I downloaded HD Tune Trial version because I'm curious about the Spin Retry Count warning. Seems like the warning shown on HD Tune Free version is a false positive, HD Tune Trial doesn't give any warning.

    Chkdsk C:

    Code:
Correcting errors in the Volume Bitmap.

Windows has made corrections to the file system.

    1) Uninstall any of these non-Microsoft software:
    a) antivirus
    b) firewall
    c) drive encryption

    2) Make free backup images and save the images to another disk drive or the cloud:
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

    3) Review the instructions for Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):
Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

Learn the methods to recover from using the tool by booting into safe mode and typing one or more of these commands:
    verifier /reset
    verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

    Test all non-Microsoft drivers.
    Test no Microsoft drivers
Start with the 3 customized test settings in the TF link.

If there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    verifier /querysettings
Post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

If there are any major performance problems including very slow boot then comment into this thread.

Plan to start WDV after the new year.
    (Happy new year.)

    Hi zbook, Happy New Year!

I was away today and left my laptop powered on, when I got back it got new Windows Update *facepalm*

So now I'm running Windows 10 19044.2364 (the December 2022 update). I hope it won't cause any issue during our WDV run.

I'm gonna use my system for awhile to make sure the Windows Update doesn't have any major problem. Then I will start the WDV and get back to you.

When tuneup plus ran the time was unusually long.

The test results indicated that the drive is fine.

Other steps were made: uninstallations, Windows MCT/iso; to plan an in place upgrade repair.

WDV testing first to find and fix any misbehaving drivers then an in place upgrade repair.

These combined should tune up the computer.

    Code:
        Finished on 2022-12-29 at 16:10:07.39
It took 157 minutes and 33 seconds to complete the operations.

If there were no major performance problems or very slow boot then perform the following steps:

    1) Make a new restore point

    2) Restart WDV using all customized tests except:
    [ ] 0x00000004 Randomized low resources simulation.

    3) If there is no immediate BSOD then post a new verifier /querysettings

    4) For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post

    5) Run WDV continuously for 48 hours

    6) Before turning off WDV post a new V2 share link into the newest post
