WDV is unlikely to cause a freeze with only one customized test.

Monitor the computer for 4 or more days.

Then reinstall one software per day so that you have some monitoring time.

Once you've established that the computer is stable without any unexpected shutdowns and restarts: (4 - 7 days monitoring with reliability monitor)

Please don't open the thread until you've confirmed the stability.

For the sleep problem please open a new thread in the general forum.

    Run this script:

I misunderstood the directions: I thought I was to run low resources test. So I ran it and the screen went black about 30 minutes in. I was running edge browser. Ended up rebooting and turning WDV off.

I'll keep the sleep mode off and watch the reliability history for the next four days.

Aha! "When the Low Resources Simulation option (called Randomized low resources simulation in Windows 8.1) is active, Driver Verifier fails random instances of the driver's memory allocations, as might occur if the driver was running on a computer with insufficient memory. This tests the driver's ability to respond properly to low memory and other low-resource conditions."

Okay........monitor for stability / instability using the computer as you normally do.
Play resource demanding games as needed.

    Keep WDV off.

Plan to reinstall software after 4 full days of computer stability (one day per software).
