GSOD & hang/no response crashes on Server 2016. No helpful information

Hi, I have a number of issues I'd like to ask about but this is perhaps the most important

My main computer system keeps hanging and requiring a hard reset. I cannot offer any more information than this because I can't find any error messages in any of the event logs and no dumps are being created by the crash.

I usually access my main box (Server 2016 Datacenter; 1607 build 14393.5501) via RDP and that either drops out or goes to a gray screen of death (monotone gray screen with nothing on it) and there's no response on the main display either when I press a key or wiggle the mouse. It always requires a hard reset with the power button and there's no resulting BSOD information, errors logged in event viewer or crash dumps created, nothing remotely helpful. I have attempted to follow the 'helpful' advice from Microsoft's forums (the SFC and DISM to solve every issue posts) but it still does its crashing thing despite SFC & DISM coming back clean. I don't know if it is a driver issue (the NVIDIA driver for the NVS310 I have is fully compatible with Server, I double checked and updated it recently), a hardware issue (I ran Intel CPU tests, checked all my drives' SMART output, ran chkdsk /f and /b on the system/NVMe drive, checked the GPU and did a memory test all of which came back with pass or good) or a heating/thermal issue (I run my fans at 100% now, at least until I look at the fan curves and stuff, whenever I do something even remotely intensive as I noticed the temp was climbing). I did notice in the past that the display had a few weird textured boxes appear on it every so often, sometimes they were green, sometimes black and sometimes gray but due to the lack of errors and dumps I can't identify if it's a display/GPU related issue.

My main box is used for a variety of tasks, most of which don't (or shouldn't) cause any strain on the machine and unless I'm doing something unusual I rarely see more than about 15% CPU utilization, even with VMs running. Aside from client VMs the box is a DC and file server, as well as being a Plex server.

    Any help would be useful...

Ugh. I really don't want to have to fork out even more for another graphics card! This current one really didn't last
I guess I'll have to add that to the ever-lengthening list of hardware I need to get for my computers then...

    issue seemingly sorted

I'm not quite sure what actually happened but it seemed, despite me having run a Memory Test (windows own, so maybe that's why it came up clean?), I had RAM issues. At least one 8GB stick failed and it wouldn't boot with the RGB Pro sticks in there either. At first it was crashing with increasing frequency, then it was hanging on boot and eventually it started showing DRAM failure warning LEDs on the motherboard. At that point I was able to actually narrow down the cause of the problem to the RAM whereas before I was getting zilch.
I have reverted it to an earlier configuration and now it works as well as it did before these issues.

I will take some time at some point to test these sticks but as it is I'm far enough behind without taking a day to test the RAM and I will also look into getting a replacement Graphics Card, annoyingly, in an effort to prevent further issues developing
    Thanks for your help
