    Event ID 1001 Bugcheck


    Good day

    My Windows 10 version is 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1320)

    For the past week (on and off) i have been getting issues with my pc taking forever to restart/shutdown.

    What would usually trigger it is sometimes (not all the time) i would try run a game and it would just hang at the splash screen and would have to close via task manager.

    Id try a few times just to see if it would work again but to no avail. So what i would then do is try to restart my system but then it would take forever and would be forced to hard reset.

    My latest error actually generated this error: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x0000000000000004, 0x000000000000012c, 0xffffdf0573511040, 0xfffff8004816d780). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 4076326c-8652-444a-b550-c311229e3848."

    It started when i tried to run Dragon Age Origins (i dont think its just related to this game however this is the only one ive been playing lately) - again stuck on the splash screen and close it via task manager.

    After a few retries i actually eventually got in the game (strangely this was after i disconnected my game controller - not sure if its related but there we go)

    So after that i tried to restart my system - again took forever so i decided to leave it. 10 minutes later when i came back i noticed i was on the login screen so i assumed the restart was successful albeit very slow.

    When i checked event viewer there was the Event ID 41: Kernel Power and Event ID 1001 Bugcheck errors.

    I have attached the V2 Log collector file.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Hi,

    I would like you to upload the file C:\Windows\MEMORY.dmp to onedrive, google drive, dropbox or any similar service you prefer and post a share link. It's needed to debug this specific crash.

    Im currently using Automatic Memory Dump, can i switch to Mindump option? (256kb option)

    Makes uploading a little easier as 1GB takes a while for me.

    The error happened again so im actually uploading the latest one.

    When i restarted my pc i waited long enough for the BSOD and the error there was "Driver Power State Failure"

    I'll describe what happened with the latest error:

    So i played Dragon Age Origins for about 90 minutes and there were no issues.

    After that i tried playing AC Odyssey - this is where it just hung on the splash screen. I waited a while until i actually unplugged my gamepad. Doing this actually went into the game almost immediately.

    After playing for a bit i exited and just went to device manager quickly - strangely the HID compliant game controller was showing an error. Also trying to plug the gamepad into free USB slots wasn't working either so i left it unplugged.

    So i tried restarting and it took about 5 minutes to restart and the BSOD i mentioned above happened.

    Upon restarting the HID compliant game controller was working again.

    I am going to do a memtest just as an additional measure as im not sure whats going on. Things work for a while only for them to randomly not work again.

    I hope all the above info is sufficient.

    Just so you know, I am analyzing the kernel dump, but it can take a loooooong time sometimes.

    Read these links on Windows Driver Verifier (WDV)
    Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

    I do have files in the windows\LiveKernelReports but for some unknown reason its not creating the zip file on the desktop.
    Any other method? Havnt run driver verifier yet as i want to upload the kernel one first.

    I will add by looking at the LiveKernelReports folder there is a sub folder called "USBHUB3" and there are multiple instances of dump files in that folder as well.

    Still trying to get the zip file going in the meantime ...

    Please modify the permissions to run the script.


    If the script cannot be run then post images of the error messages and codes.

    So far the logs displayed one BSOD on 11/08/2021.

    Was Xbox in use?
    Which hardware devices were connected to each bluetooth and USB ports on the above dates?

    Hi there

    The script unfortunately does not work.

    The two folders i have under LiveKernelReports are:

    USBHUB3
    WATCHDOG

    Only one instance of watchdog on the 11/11.
    Multiple instances of USBHUB3 - date ranges from 5/11-11/11

    I cant open any of the files in the folders.

    Xbox is not in use - i uninstalled any Xbox app just to be sure. Game Bar is not in use either.
    I do have an Xbox 360 game controller - i have disconnected for the time being. Strangely controller being attached doesn't allow PC to go into sleep mode. Disconnecting fixes that issue.

    I havn't had any issues for last few days but not sure if its the controllers fault or not.

    I usually disable bluetooth - i have a file transfer device that i use sparingly but disconnect when i dont use it.
    I have a USB controller, mouse, head-phones and keyboard that i use.

    Ive attached updated V2 - apologies if i havnt answered everything with regards to LiveKernelReports. Dont know why the script isnt running.

    Please let me know if i have missed anything.

    There were no new BSOD seen in the logs.

    Please search for the livekerneldump files using Everything:
    voidtools

    C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\BTHPORT
    C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\USBHUB3\USBHUB3
    C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG\WATCHDOG


    Do not open the files.
    Instead save to the downloads folder.
    Then zip and post share links.


    Often livekernelevents do not display the cause of BSOD but sometimes they are useful.

    So please read the links on windows driver verifier (WDV) and learn the commands to turn off the tool: reset and bootmode.

    If there are no new BSOD the WDV tool can be used to find any misbehaving drivers.
