Will upgrading two windows 11 fix bsod

For a while now I've been experiencing a blue screen of death issue on my Windows 10 laptop and I was wondering if upgrading to Windows 11 would that possibly fix the issue or will it still persist after that?

When I posted on this issue a while back someone looked at the files and seem to think that it could be a video issue but we weren't 100% sure cuz it never really fixed it and upgrading to the most current drivers was causing issues with some of my programs we had the back date to one of the earlier versions of the drivers I don't know if that's the issue and if that would be fixed by upgrading or not.

Just need some feedback on this before I start doing all that process. Also side question if I do upgrade to Windows 11 to try to fix this will I have to reinstall all my programs will Windows 11 put in a basically a fresh operating system with nothing installed or will I still at my programs installed after the update if I do have to go that route

    Recommended steps:
    1. Backup the OS partition. Repeat: make a backup
    2. Download the Win10 ISO and perform a repair install (will not affect your installed apps or data)
Use the system and see if it resolved the BSOD.
If not, then maybe a clean install of either Win10 or Win11 might resolve the problem. But a clean install will require the re-installation of all your apps.

An alternative could be to upgrade to Win11, either from being offered from the Windows Update or other means. However, if the the problem would likely still exists if a clean install is not done.

Yeah problem I am having with the BSOD is every time I have tried to do a factory reinstall it gets all done and when it boots up the first time it crashes and puts everything back to where it was prior to starting the reinstall which is weird but is what has happened when i try and do the reinstall reason I am hoping the upgrade might resolve the issue.

Hi, what is the laptop? Make/model/age? Is it known to be compatible with Win 10?

A clean install of Win 10 is generally preferable to a factory reset to an old build... which if it's an old laptop could even be Win 7 or 8.

However there's the argument in your case that a factory reset takes you back to a defined state that did once work... provided you don't then update anything, that is.

You should also check your disk. If that has problems... e.g. Hard Disk Sentinel (excellent instant appraisal) - also applies to SSDs.

If it doesn't work with '10, it's probably less likely to with '11. That's if it's even compatible with '11 of course.

No this laptop came with Win10 installed is only about 2 years old as for when I bought it.

Checked disks checked memory upgraded video drivers (Newest ones cause game issues so I revert to the prior driver version available and that resolved the game issues but was still newer drivers then I had)

Thank you for your polite and informative reply.

    I asked you:

    You answered
    No.

    No to what, exactly?

And how have you checked your disk?

The fewer details you provide the harder it will be for you to resolve your issue.
