    Computer Randomly Restarting (W10)

All I have in the Event Viewer to look at are:

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}

Other than those 4 warnings there is 2 errors that are just detecting that the computer is restarting unexpectedly.

I've looked up the warnings and apparently Microsoft is saying that these "errors" are safe to ignore. Other places I found had me edit the registry which I did and I still get the random restarts. It seems like everytime I just use my browser its fine but as soon as I try scanning something or try playing a game my 3090 will reset my computer every 15-20 minutes I'm trying to play a game. Highly annoying when I'm a tank and people rely on me.

But yeah, this computer was working perfectly well last week then it seems I installed the new Windows update and changed my video card from a 2060 super to a 3090 and then I all of a sudden get problems.

It's gotta be my SSD or something. Because I tried sticking the 2060 super back in and I get the same problems. So if something isnt screwed up with microsoft's new W10 update that came out last week I have not even the foggiest clue what can be going wrong.

    Hi,

Your machine seems nearly brand new... I would suspect something with the PSU. Verify voltage in your bios monitoring section.

Yes I just built it less than a year ago. My PSU is a Corsair AX850 that's relatively new as well. I bought it shortly before COVID hit. I will check it right now for you though. Where in the BIOS would I find my PSU voltage?

I'm in BIOS right now. I see four voltages on top of ram voltage and CPU voltage.

    CPU Core Voltage is 0.968V
    DRAM Voltage is 1.504v
    12V Voltage +12.488V
    5V Voltage 5.080V
    3.3V Voltage 3.424V

    Looks Good !

I think your GPU may get under powered at some point or. Does your cooling system Kicks-in while playing. You should notice Fan blowing faster etc. You can use speedfan and HWMonitor to see if something goes off while playing.

Perhaps, I was going to one day upgrade my PSU to a 1,000 or 1,200W anyway because I want to make my own custom loop at some point. But hopefully after COVID starts getting back to normal. PSU prices right now are just ridiculous.

Umm, my RTX 3090 fans do not work unless I have precision X1 open. All of my other fans including my CPU AIO do in fact, work.
My temperatures are also pretty decent while gaming if I have fans at 50-60%. 50-60c.

If your run any stress test does it end the same ? I'm still stuck on the PSU as the source of the problem. Because of your initial description... If you swapped GPU a couple time to try to fix the problem. You can try to use Manufacturers cleanup tool and try to reinstall your Video drivers.

Monitor voltages Low/High as you play. You can also remove the GPU, light up the computer and use a voltmeter to check power going in your PCI-E power port. If your MB and CPU have integrated GXF you can try to run it without Discrete GPU to see if it will fail too.

I'm starting to get out of ideas, But testing with another PSU would be basic. Because This little video card can peak up to 360 watts. Depending on the other component running that can leave you short somewhere.

I couldn't before. I tried running UBM and it would reboot 3/4 of the way. Someone on tomshardware got me able to run UBM though. Could it be the PSU? I bought my 3090 in June and it worked perfectly aside from overheating issues. This 3090 I have now is a replacement I had of that one, EVGA did confirm the other one was faulty. They sent this card to me on the 22nd I believe? It worked until about this Sunday and then this started happening. At first I thought it was because of overheating again but it actually runs quite decently in games. I think the last thing I'm going to try is u installing the w10 update that came out last week. If that does nothing i have no idea and I give up.

If youre interested In the results of that ubm though the link is

I'm starting to suspect PSU as well. While I have a pretty archaic tester it showed the following

I don't remember if the X in the middle is good or not but all of my voltages are underperforming. Ughh this had to happen during COVID when good PSUs are like 4-$500...

It's really a beautiful rig !.. It should work as what it is...

Your previous overheating card may have damaged your PSU. (This is verifiable but it needs extended computer surgery)

If windows doesn't start with the bios settings you want. You can try to see if it would do a clean install with those settings. If it does then... Assuming this is a gaming rig... Backup and redo... This machine must install Windows in 5 minutes anyway.

Verify if you have your key. Take the latest Windows ISO you can get. Leave only boot drive connected. Do a wipe-up install.
