Kyhi boot rescue may no longer be available.

Try Bob Omb's or Hiren's, etc.

After trying several of the utilities that you all suggested, I am at a point that I just want to completely wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows since Costco is saying this is a software issue and their warranty doesn't cover that. Note to self. Anyone have a particular guide online that they would recommend? I do have my Windows activation key for that laptop so maybe I can at least not have to buy another copy of windows.

    Hi,

If you have Backed up what you want to keep and have a working Windows installation source media ready.

Install windows with "no key". After you completed installation and are online. Start registration process and use the key you have to activate Windows. If your key did not come with a windows 10 source media. This is the way to validate If the key you have is valid for a Windows 10 activation. Make SURE you install the same flavour of windows that your key requires.

If Windows was at any time updated to Windows 10 the licensing data should be on Windows servers.
This allows drive replacement or clean install with reinstallation using a free Windows iso.

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

Though Costco apparently doesn't provide a full warranty, they did provide a copy of windows 10 with my laptop. Thanks to some of the utilities you kind people suggested, I have the activation key. Wish I had it for the MS office site I have. Lesson learned.

Windows 7 key are all accepted for me so far. Regardless of complete machine changes.

You need to be online before starting activation process.

Sometimes an additionnal couples of little phone calls to MS activation centers fixes everything.

In my experience MS never blocked a Win 7 key in Win 10 for me, as long as it's the same version and has never been abused.

They do know that they have multiple activations of the same key on multiple instalations, if it occurs. But they also know that you never given that number to anyone and it was not used for mutiple simultanious activations also.

And if you pop-up with a lidget key... They will activate your installation, whatever.

Great. Thanks. This forum helps restore my faith in humanity. For every able bodied jerk parking in a handicap space, there are 10 of you people taking time out of your lives to help strangers. Bravo.
