    Blue Screen of Death

    Hi

    STEPS COMPLETED FROM BELOW

    Graphics driver has been updated.
    12 RAM (4 & 8) is standard on this computer. - https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05573956

OS - Waiting on response to the below replies. I have an idea I know what is being referred to but ant to make sure before proceeding.

UPDATE: the second I posted the message below my system crashed again.

    ‐---------------------------
Update 2: not sure if this is the issue but I've noticed this last time when I booted up again I did not start Firefox or Thunderbird my mail program and I just went in to start playing a game that I can play and I haven't any crashes issue is it possible Firefox or Thunderbird is the culprit and would just merely uninstalling them and then reinstalling them possibly fix this if they are the culprit I do know that a lot of times when I've crashed Firefox is always running in the background like I have issues a lot when I'm watching YouTube videos and I noticed a lot of times it does crash during that point so I don't know if it's Firefox or video driver but I'm just wondering is that a possible issue they could be causing this and would merely reinstalling them fix it possibly thoughts

Also I have checked on the video drivers and windows when it does a search says the drivers are the most up-to-date so not sure I can't I can't update the drivers so

    ‐---------------------------

I have been getting now for maybe 6-7 months a Blue Screen of Death quite frequently. Hard part is ever time it seems to have a number of different stop codes so hard to pin it down to any one issue.

I was thinking of redoing the system via system restore but last time I tried this I would get all the way down then during the first boot up following the restore it would give me a BSOD and then revert the whole system back to where it was prior to the restore.

Is there any way to get the restore to finish hopefully fixing this issue or what can I do to get rid of these BSOD as so far nothing seems to work including scans and such. In fact I scanned the system this morning restoring potentially damaged windows files and the second I got back into normal mode I had not even booted up fully when it crashed again..

At this point am at a loss as to how to fix this.

Keep in mind any responses make sure they are simple as sometimes too technical isn't easy to understand

Theres a few things that stand out

    from ram.txt:
    Location : Bottom - Slot 1 (top)
    BankLabel : BANK 0
    Manufacturer : SK Hynix
    MemoryType : DDR4
    FormFactor : SODIMM
    Capacity : 4GB
    Speed : 2400
    Serial : 2B60294D
    PartNumber : HMA851S6AFR6N-UH
    ECC : False
    TypeDetail : {Synchronous, Unbuffered (Unregistered)}

    Location : Bottom - Slot 2 (under)
    BankLabel : BANK 2
    Manufacturer : SK Hynix
    MemoryType : DDR4
    FormFactor : SODIMM
    Capacity : 8GB
    Speed : 2400
    Serial : 2B9D0198
    PartNumber : HMA81GS6AFR8N-UH
    ECC : False
    TypeDetail : {Synchronous, Unbuffered (Unregistered)}
One is showing as 4GB and one as 8GB. They should be matching. Have you added ram yourself?

    From pnp-devices.txt:
There are multiple lines of this.
Intel(R) XTU Component Device Degraded 0 Intel(R) XTU Component Device Intel SWD\DRIVERENUM\{D6711452-0DD6-4AEB-A58E-803DBA73BF69}#XTUCOMPONENT&3&8A4A9BC&0
Your graphics driver is out of date (one of the blue screen dumps points at your ati driver also), from gpu.txt:
    Name Radeon(TM) RX 580
    DriverDate 1/17/2018 4:00:00 PM
A newer one can be found at: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-580
You want the one labeled "Adrenalin 21.6.1 Recommended (WHQL)" from 6/29/2021. The August one is NOT WHQL certified.

    From os-details.txt:
    BuildNumber 19042
That is 20H2 and the current is 19043 (21H1). Please update

Regarding RAM no have not added anything to the computer that was installed by the OMEN manufacturer which I believe is HP the computer came from Bestbuy with 12MB RAM right out of the box.

You can see here on HP's website it's standard with 4 and 8 for a total of 12

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05573956

I'll update the drivers but why is it windows claims my drivers are up to date though i have long suspected they weren't due to how and when the computer crashes alot playing youtube and other videos

The OS Details unsure how or where I need to update those more info needed to complete that.

    Thanks

Thats really odd hp does the memory like that.

Anyways, where does windows say your drivers are up to date?

For the os details, click start > settings > update and security > run windows update

I know this is suppose to remain BSOD topics but this resulted form one of the update suggestions in the post above. I posted it here being the suggested BSOD fixes are also above. The system was fully restarted after the update

What happened here I installed the suggested graphic update and now when I load into Call of Duty Mobile which played fine before the update is now showing all sorts of messed up graphics with this new graphics update when I go into a match? Lobby is fine but the match itself is all messed up missing buildings and characters being stretched all over the place. I need this fixed as I was working on a task I need to get done and can't play the game the way this is after the suggested graphics update

I did restart the game in case it was some for of issue but same thing after the restart.

Seems from researching it's some buggy issues with this suggested update with regards to the game. Any thoughts?

Thats exactly why i have avoided ati video cards for years. Tried once, will never go back.

Try with the current driver (or the newer one thats not WHQL) for a bit and see if it crashes

How do I do that do I need to download a different driver? Someone in the Redit forum suggested this driver

Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1

Or was this the one you were suggesting I try?

    Adrenalin 21.8.2 Optional

Will that one work on my omen system OK. It just seems like it's an older version then the one you suggested but he did say that fixed it for him. I have an open ticket to my emulators support as seems they are aware of the issue but the post is 6 months old so not sure if they have a fix or not.

The one i suggested you try is Adrenalin 21.6.1 Recommended (WHQL).
I assume you are on 20.9.1 currently and that is older than the one i suggest.

    20.9.1 = old
    21.6.1 = newer

Note the bold parts above, 21 is higher (newer) than 20.

21.6.1 is WHQL (Windows hardware quality lab) meaning its supposedly tested on windows.

There is also Adrenalin 21.8.2 Optional and thats even newer, but not WHQL certified (but wont hurt to try)

No at the moment I am using the one you suggested Adrenalin 21.6.1 Recommended (WHQL)

So I updated to that after reading your post then found out the game issues when I went to play about 30 minutes ago. So I assume if I downloaded Adrenalin 21.8.2 Optional it will update the one I did earlier to this option version?

Correct, and hopefully no game issues or blue screens
