    They replaced it.

Also here are the crash files since the new install of Windows: Attachment 345850

Youve got some driver thats not playing nicely.

Besides video card and hard disk, what all do you have beyond that? (not counting mouse or keyboard)

CPU, GPU, motherboard, power supply, 2 sticks of RAM, speakers, ethernet cable, and 4 monitors. I have 2 SSDs and 3 HDDs, but only have the Windows SSD active.

3 of them DisplayPort -> HDMI, and 1 HDMI -> HDMI

assuming individually a dp adapter to hdmi.

Nope, individual cables. No adapter attached, just straight DP -> HDMI, and HDMI -> HDMI.

I've been having similar problems with my system for the last 2 weeks, although my system just hangs and does not go to a BSOD. Like you I've got no evidence of anything failing or broken. I had a chat with a Microsoft rep and his suggestion was to put a decent graphics card in my system because I am running 2 monitors off the CPU directly. He said my "heavy" apps (I do 3D design and printing) are putting too much strain on my i7 3.4GHz CPU chip.

I don't have much faith in that suggestion because I've been running this same hardware & software for about 4 years with no problem. My sense is there is something strange going on in Windows, but I have no idea what it might be, or even how to go about finding out what it might be.

Earlier today I had a suggestion here to try the PerfMon utility, which I was previously unaware of. I took a quick look at that and came to the realization it would take me several days to figure out how to get it to produce data that might be able to tell me what to look at.

I might contact Microsoft to see if this is just a Windows error. Might even install Linux on a different drive and run that until I can get it to crash. How did you go about contacting a rep?

Also, I looked into the PerfMon utility and I'm now running it. Found out I have an error from PCI Encrypt/Decrypt driver (?). Everything else looks clear. I used this guide to get it working: VMware Knowledge Base

After stumbling around a bit I finally found this URL that let me initiate an online chat with a real Microsoft rep: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus. I was #99 in the queue (this was yesterday, a Sunday) but I waited it out. The person I talked to linked in to my PC so he could see my screen and manipulate the mouse etc. Even though his recommended solution doesn't seem too reasonable I'd suggest you try the link - your results may be better.

Thanks for the post about PerMon. It should save me some time getting it going. But I suspect there won't be any definitive results. My sense now is that I'm just going to have to keep trying different things until I find one that stops the hangs. Yesterday I thought maybe I had - I found out that my network adapter driver (RealTek PCIe on the motherboard) was out of date, so I downloaded the update. But that didn't fix the problem. Today I'm going to try to find the Intel drivers for my CPU chipset. Due to Intel's crazy way of identifying things that's not going to be easy to do.

    *3 hrs. later*

I replaced/updated Intel's drivers for CPU chipset and video driver. The log files said the installers made updates, but Device Manager doesn't show any updated driver version numbers. So it's not clear what actually happened. At least everything seems ok - for now.
