    0x124 PSHED.dll playing GTA V

    Hello!

So I was playing GTA V at the time my system crashed. When it booted back to the logon screen I entered my password and then immediately crashed again. Not sure why it's suddenly crashing because it's been perfectly fine for the past few months and powered on for hours per day even when I've been away from home.

    Dump collection below.

    Thanks.

    Specs:
    ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z
    AMD FX 8350
    Radeon R9 280X
    Windows 10 20H2 build 19042.928

I have removed the VB virtual audio driver as I removed the software it was installed with. As for my Realtek audio, I've probably got a (now) outdated version. VMware will be updated/reinstalled. As for Windows Updates, yes, there are updates wanting to be installed but it's that broken update that causes Windows 10 to crash.

EDIT: Why do I need to stress my CPU? The CPU is stable at 4.2GHz overclock from base 4.0GHz.

Because the bugcheck you come across indicates that the CPU is not working properly (the CPU bug was detected by a specially designed WHEA architecture). It is possible that the CPU gets too hot when playing and that is why you are getting BSOD

It's highly unlikely the CPU overheated then. More likely my VRMs (Northbridge chipset) was too hot. Playing GTA it was roughly 70'C but ASUS assures me my board (and other ROG boards) can withstand a thermal temperature of 115'C or so.
