Frequent freezes and BSODs despite clean install and change of SSD

    Latest update:
    Yes, it was the motherboard that was faulty. Since I replaced it with an Asus Sabertooth 990FX (1st generation) a week ago I have not had one BSOD or freeze.

    I was also pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't need to reauthorise Windows after the change of hardware.
