Alienware 17 R3 random? BSOD

I'm not even going to TRY to understand what's going on, but day before yesterday I started putting software on the laptop and actually running programs. As soon as I had something running, it started acting perfectly normal... Lid goes down it does whatever - lid comes up, a second later the disk comes on and a second after that the login screen...

Leave it up and after 20 minutes the display shuts off. Hit a key or move the mouse and it comes back on.

Wife has it hooked back up to all her stuff and it's been perfect for 2 days. I'm having a hard time believing it would CARE if there was something running or not, but when there was no software (other than O/S) on it, and the desktop was just 3 icons, it didn't work. Now it does.

I'm confident it'll puke all over ONE OF THESE DAYS. When it does I'll run the thing to get the logs and maybe they'll turn something up. For the moment, through NOTHING brilliant I've done, it's working fine.

Thanks for the help. If it loses it's mind again, I'll try to generate the logs.

If your want to get ahead of things, go to Control Panel & run the troubleshooter. It may have an relevant warning of something imminent.

I'll give it a quick run... The laptop is going to be gone for the next couple weeks, so I"ll see how many phone calls I get from the domestic associate!
