Also which version of PotPlayer is being used? Fully remove it including leftovers then reboot and install whatever version you are not using. In other words try 64bit version if you are currently using 32bit version or vice versa.

Also download and run:
Thumbnail Database Cleaner - IT Samples
No need to clean. Just check paths and make sure that they look something like this:
When the scan finishes check for paths that show mutiple instances of appdata on the same line. If there are none then ther is no problem.
I mean check paths on the windows drive. The one that contains your profile (user account). Just run the tool to check paths and look for multiple appdata entries on the same line. If there are none - no problem. Also by what version I meant is it the 32bit or 64bit version?
No need to clean but if you are going to clean anyway kill explorer then clean. Then reboot.
Looked pretty much like your screen cap, what do you mean by multiple entries on the same line? (Duplicates?).
(Version-wise I run a 64bit system so tend to use 64 bit apps, not all of them are but I believe potplayer is).
appdata/appdata/appdata/appdata
I still suggest fully removing PotPlayer to include leftovers then rebooting and installing a fresh copy plus codecs.
Geek Uninstaller - the best FREE uninstaller
After uninstall check for and remove if found:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Daum\
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\PotPlayerMini
If you still get problems after a reinstall at leat it rules out problems with the program itself.
The thing I found weird though is I had it happen once before on my old laptop which used amd drivers (can't be sure it was the same error but I was doing the same thing when it happened) it's one of the things that prompted me to replace my old laptop (that and it was slow... my current one is so much quicker that I take less than half the time to sort my usual daily stuff).
Also I never saw any entries like "appdata/appdata/appdata/appdata".
If display driver is the culprit then I cannot diagnose of help other than to say fully remove the display driver (download a replacement first) then reboot and install the replacement. I can't tell you which driver to use. There may be other members who could advise.
As for possibly problematic video files:
I see them fairly often on my machine. Usually I use a third party utility that can display video thumbnails in explorer for all video file types and check for videos where a thumbnail is not displayed.
For those videos, they're either moved to another drive, deleted or re-encoded in a format where the thumbnail will display.
I still say clean install PotPlayer.
Not had any thumbnail issues as I do something similar to yourself.
As for the display driver while previously linked ones say they are compatible (or at least suggest they are and have my hardware mentioned in their compatibility lists) the executable version throws off the previously mentioned error and the zip version when extracted and searched through via device manager display options just seem to ignore the updated driver not even listing it.
