    Fresh Windows 10 Install - BSOD every few minutes


    Did a fresh install of windows 10 home edition 64bit and I cant do anything for more than a few minutes without BSOD. Cant determine a trigger either, also another weird thing is that the PC wont detect my dedicated GPU anymore, ive tried reseating it and installing drivers manually but its like it doesnt exist. I thought running through windows updates would possibly fix this but I cant even get through the window updates without BSOD.

    According to the logs the OS is NOT as you state
    It is
    Microsoft Windows 10 Pro|C:\Windows|\Device\Harddisk1\Partition4
    Version : 10.0.10240
    BuildNumber : 10240
    OSArchitecture : 64-bit
    LocalDateTime : 4/16/2021 11:49:01 AM
    LastBootUpTime : 4/16/2021 11:45:40 AM
    InstallDate : 4/15/2021 4:39:30 PM
    BootDevice : \Device\HarddiskVolume2
    SystemDevice : \Device\HarddiskVolume4
    =========================================
    as you can see Windows 10 Professional installed on 15 April

    It has failed licensing checks - according to the logs

    The Nvidia card appears to be from the PCI/VEN
    Name : Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
    DeviceID : VideoController1
    PNPDeviceID : PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1F06&SUBSYS_30673842&REV_A1\4&2283F625&0&0019
    VideoProcessor : NVIDIA

    the RTX 2060 - 8GB
    but as you can see it is using the Microsoft Basic Display driver and shows on the logs as no driver installed for the card.

    Before I look further at the logs - could you explain please the apparent anomaly between your Windows 10 Home and the installed Professional.
    Also you appear to be using Driver Easy
    Driver Easy (R) | Windows Driver Updater
    my advice is if you DO have it installed - uninstall it, as many of these such apps have a tendency at times to find the wrong driver.

    Oh what, I thought I used my copy of windows 10 home, I guess thats why my product key didnt work during the install. Im going to do another fresh install with my copy of windows 10 home and validate it then if the BSOD happens again I'll post it again here, sorry for any confusion. I'm still confused as to why my rtx 2060 drivers wont install though and its using microsoft display adapter? Guess I'll try again after the clean install of win10 home

    You did not mention that the licence did not activate
    I only established it was the RTX2060 from the PCI/VEN as I said in my reply.
    Let me know please what occurs after installing the correct version.

    Just a note, I have seen issues with drivers not installing following a clean install until after Windows has been activated. Also, the Build number given is old and doesn't show the associated Version number.

    A good point by my colleague
    IF the windows 10 Home is as old
    use the Microsoft tool to make the new build version on usb and install that
