@zebal, thanks, I'll update to the Dell driver. Also, mobile wifi hotspot (under settings>network & internet>mobile hotspot) is already off, unless there's a different setting you're referring to.

Yes, alternative ways to verify is, right click on start button, open powershell (Admin) and run:
OR:Code:netsh wlan show hostednetwork
right click you WI-FI adapter in network and sharing center -> properties and verify network sharing is off.

When I go into properties and go to sharing, it shows it's off. The powershell command says "allowed" but "not configured" under hosted network settings, and "not available" under hosted network status.

Hi all, sorry for lack of updates. Been a crazy week. So I never got around to changing the driver because the computer has been operating as it should be. I'm cautiously optimistic that for the first time I might not have to worry about this thing crashing on me constantly. Seems what @jmatt suggested helped with the pci issue, and since I've had no other issues I've felt I'd leave well enough alone for now. Thanks to both of you for your help, I really appreciate it!

Just wanted to chime in and thank @jmatt for the suggestion to disable PCI Express power saving in Windows, which completely resolved what had been a six-month-long ordeal for me (I also have an XPS 9300 and was experiencing the same issues as Camaroon83). Prior to disabling PCIE power saving, I had tried a whole host of troubleshooting suggestions offered by Dell Tech Support, all without any luck.
