BSOD when moving excel windows between monitors

Windows Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.804)

I've been getting UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP BSODs when I move excel windows from one monitor to another using the keyboard shotcut (win+shift+left). It's specifically when I move it away from the monitor that is using a USB video card.

I tried switching to another USB video card and updated drivers with no luck. Now that I've narrowed it down to the cause it's really just more of an annoyance than anything, but if anyone has any suggestions on what might fix it I'm more than happy fix this up.

@philc43 - If you remember from all the help you gave me recently, this would have been a BSOD thrown in the mix causing even more confusion. Thank you again for helping me before!

Does BSOD happen if you unmaximize the window before moving it?

Does the BSOD not occur if you move other maximized app Windows such as your browser or Microsoft Word, etc windows?

@steve108 - I haven't noticed it with other maximized apps, but because of how i use that screen, there may not be any other windows that are ever maximized on that screen. I've never paid attention to if it does it if the screen is not maximized. I'll start trying to move it around when it's not to see if i can trigger a BSOD. It definitely doesn't do it if i drag the window between screens though which I think unmaximizes it, right?

I have looked at your recent crash dumps. They all show the same double fault error which leads to an immediate crash. The driver causing it is the graphics card driver.

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x7f_8_nvlddmkm!unknown_function

There has been an update for this driver which you can try,

The best way to do this is to uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller. You can do this in safe mode for best results although it is not always necessary.

Next install the latest Nvidia driver using NVCleanstall. Get the driver over the internet and make sure you just install the driver and not the GeForce experience - you can turn off other features too if you don't use them.

If the problem still occurs you may have to take the matter up with the Nvidia Technical team.

I believe dragging the Windows across unminimizes it. What is your method for moving the maximized Window to the other monitor when the crash happens?

@philc43 - I did as instructed. So far no crashes. Will keep trying for a few days.

@steve108 - I use the Win+Shift+Left keyboard shortcut to move the maximized window from one screen to the other.
