    Bad System Config Info

    Hi all,

I am in search of help due to a blue screen I recently got on my windows 10 machine.

Recently I've had some issues with my PC randomly restarting etc but today my screen just went grey and nothing seemed to be happening so I restarted. When I turned it back on it came to a blue screen with the error code in the title of the post.

After searching the internet I cannot seem to find a fix for this that doesn't require a wipe of my current system. Or at least a fix that wont allow me to get my old files back.

I have a university coursework due in two days that I have been working on for weeks and now cannot access.

Any help, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also note that I am unable to get the logs due to me not being able to actually get into windows at all.

    Thanks.

Did you try a system restore?

I checked but the most recent point to which I can restore is the beginning of the month, so I would lose my recent work.

See if you can boot with a recovery disk and retrieve the work you need before doing the System Restore.

Try the Kyhi recovery PE disk.

When I do this it pops up saying "There was an unexpected error: The volume does not contain a recognised file system...(0x800703ED)"

Do you have access to another Windows computer that you can make a Windows 10 installation USB flash drive from?
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

The error "does not contain a recognized file system" is a pretty bad sign. But, if your old Windows partition is still intact, you might be able to shrink it enough to give you free space to do a clean install of Windows to while keeping the old partition with your data in it.

But if this was an important project, then you did keep backup copies of it on another drive or cloud storage, right?

Yeah I'm currently using a windows laptop instead while I try to fix my main PC.

I am currently trying to make the rescue media that was linked above, although once I boot to it I'm not entirely sure how to use it...

I did create a new instance of windows on one of my drives on my PC but when I looked I could not see any of my files. I am not sure how to access the data that is in the other partition.

I unfortunately didn't make any backups of anything either but I will definitely be doing that from now on.

    EDIT:
I booted up my PC using the rescue media but somehow some of my data seems to have disappeared including my coursework. Not sure what has happened here but I don't have high hopes for me getting it back.

Boot into the new Windows and run:

    DiskParInfo.bat

Source: Batch files for use in BSOD debugging

Post the results, but it sounds like your old Windows partition got corrupted and is unreadable. If that is the case, @jumanji is the resident drive recovery expert here.
