Black Screen after booting form Windows 10 without mouse

    Hi guys i new here.

Recently i upgarded my ACER Aspire E1431 laptop from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro via the USB at first everything was OK there was no problem so i shutdown my laptop. after a couple of hours i went back to turn it on and lo and behold after the windows 10 logo and circling dots i have a black screen with no mouse pointer. I also noticed that i have also a HDD activity because of the LED blinking, I already waited for a whole day and did several reboot but always end up on the same situation BLACK SCREEN with NO MOUSE.

Also the funny things is i could not access my CMOS/BIOS setup so that i could boot on other devices. I already tries a lot of key combination but always Windows 10 would boot and the could not access my CMOS/BIOS setup. I am all out of ideas.

Any form of help would be very much appreciated.

What is the Key you normally press to get into BIOS? Please check the Model number again. I cannot find an Aspire E 1431. This is Acer's Page on all Aspire models. Please look at your model number and tell me which Model you have. Laptops | View All Our Laptops | Acer Solutions Also please add to your system specs at the bottom left of your last post. The operating system and Bios are separate. The operating system cannot change BIOS. When you enter the OS, it is strictly a bios function. The operating system has not begun to load.

Try to boot, and when you get stuck on the black screen hold the start button down for at least 30 seconds. The computer should shut down but keep the power button held down for several more seconds. After that, please try to start up and see if you can enter BIOS.

    Hi Mods,

Thank you for the guidance, i was already able to resolved the issue by forcing a windows boot load failure. I jus needed my head to clear. More power to you and this forum.

Glad you have it fixed. Would you mind letting us know exactly what you did and how you did it. Others having the same problem may find this thread and maybe your fix will help them.

I forced a boot load failure in Win10 by pressing the power button three times when the circling dots is shown. When windows 10 load and the circling dots appeared press the power button to shutdown the laptop, do this three time or more. On my 4th boot the windows recovery system kick-in.

Here is a more clean explanation on what i did. http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34866

    Hope these method help.
