Windows keeps crashing shortly after startup but works in safe mode
Hey all I first posted my problem on r/techsupport but they recommended me here instead, here was my post:
Today when I started up my pc (windows10) after the login screen and as the start up programs/drivers were loading, my pc just froze completely. After a while it went to bsod whea error but it just remained stuck at 0%. I tried again and again and kept getting this problem. The bsod would either give whea or clock watchdog timeout error.
I later tried starting up in safe mode and the pc works perfectly fine. This is also how I'm typing this post now. I'm quite certain its a driver/start up program thing as during each restart, if my pc was loading up slower after logging in it would work for longer but it would always crash once a set number of the start up programs at the bottom right started flowing in.
[Update] After disabling as many start up programs as possible the crashes do not occur as frequently, but looking at the taskbar I noticed that my cpu was constantly nearing 100%, it wasn't any single program in particular, all the programs would randomly take up a huge chunk of cpu, like just opening file explorer or internet explorer it would shoot way up. Anyway while I was running hitman pro to scan, the pc went bsod(driver verification), but this time it actually managed to save the whole crash dump unlike the other times where it would be stuck at 0%. In the last few days I didn't manually install new drivers other than a steelseries mouse driver. But I have already uninstalled that and the problem still persists. Is this a driver issue? I have already tried analysis of the dmp file with windbg but it doesn't seem to indicate which driver is causing the issue.
Please help!
