Windows 10 Multiple BSODs a day (IRQL, KMODE, etc.)

    Hello TenForums,

I previously had some issues with this computer that I built when I first built it, I was able to tweak some of the power settings and that stopped the crashes for ~4 months. Now I'm getting frequent crashes (3+ times/day) again. I usually see a BSOD with either IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOTHANDLED or something similar, although occasionally it just restarts itself without showing any BSOD, or sometimes just freezes/becomes unresponsive.

I've anecdotally noticed that it seems to crash more often when I'm on video calls, and less often when I'm playing video games.

I first tried a clean install w/o luck.

I've tried updating all of my windows updates.

I've tried testing the memory using memtest for 29 hours to get 13 passes IMG_4724.JPG - Google Drive

I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest graphics cards for my NVIDIA RTX 2080. I also tried installing driver updates for the TP link wireless card, and my video camera.

I've tried chkdsk and sfc /scannow in terms of windows utilities.

I've run seagate's drive tester utility and it didn't find any problems (not sure if it's conclusive of no problems though)

I've uploaded a full dump here:
    11.3.2020 - Google Drive
    And several mini dumps here:
    110320-9281-01 - Google Drive
and the TenForums utility report here:
    DESKTOP-4930G3H-(2020-11-03_16-20-02).zip - Google Drive

Let me know if there's any other helpful information I can provide?

    Thank you!

Thank you for responding, although I'm having some trouble actually following the instructions. I've tried to go to device manager and install the latest drivers there but I get the following screen: . Similarly when I click to search for updated drivers on Windows update it shows that I'm up to date. I tried uninstalling them here, and I was able to make all the icons idsappear, but wasn't sure how I should reinstall

When I go to the AMD website and search for drivers for my processor, the only thing that comes up is AMD Ryzen Master: . Is this what I'm supposed to be installing? It looks more like a tool for overclocking than a driver.

I've tried going to the chipset driver page as well:, but I've already previously tried installing this one. Is there a different process I should follow?

I did find a way to switch the driver in the Device Manager from Processor -> AMD Processor:

I recently got another crash, I've uploaded the mini memory dumps from today to here: 110420-9890-01 - Google Drive

Are you overclocking your CPU core(s)?

Go to BIOS settings. CPU Virtualization = Disable

If you Overclock. ONLY overclock with the Profile setting in BIOS. 3600 only needs to be max 3.9Ghz. Its the BUS thats important. 3200Mhz (Change to that if you have not)
    Save and exit

    Load windows.
Voila, no more Blue Screen Service exception crashes.

Okay sounds good! I don't think I was overclocking, but I reset my motherboard settings just in case. Here were the net changes from the reset: IMG_4767.JPG - Google Drive

I also disabled CPU Virtualization: IMG_4770.JPG - Google Drive

Okay the system seems much more stable! Went about 36 hours w/o a crash where previously it was crashing several times a day. I've uploaded the latest memory dump to here: 11.6.20 - Google Drive
And the minidump to here: - Google Drive

Is there anything else that I can share that would be helpful?

    Thank you!

Sorry, looks like your thread got lost somehow.

I've downloaded the two dumps you uploaded but would you run V2 log collector to give us a new set of all the other files please. Upload that ZIP file.

The last mini-dump on 11/6 shows a problem with dxgmms2.

    .exr ffffbc8d5318e7c8
    ExceptionAddress: fffff80177f4a073 (dxgmms2!VIDMM_WORKER_THREAD::Run+0x0000000000000f03)
    ExceptionCode: c0000005 (Access violation)

    That's a video problem. You have a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, DriverVersion : 9.3.3324.0, DriverDate : 4/15/2020 7:00:00 PM

There is a newer version available: Version: 457.30 WHQL, Release Date: 2020.11.9

Remove and install latest Nvidia drivers:

Get the latest driver for your Nvidia card here: NVIDIA Driver Downloads
Completely uninstall the current Nvidia display drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from WagnardMobile here: Official Download Here. Do this in Safe Mode.

Then do a custom install of only the Nvidia Graphics and PhysX driver.

See if that gets rid of the problem.

Thank you Ztruker. I've uninstalled the display drivers using DDU and then reinstalled with the version 457.30 WHQL from the NVIDIA website. I made sure to only install those two drivers:
