    Bsod: Driver_power_state_failure

    Win10 version is: 10.0.19041 Build 19041

    Had the above error 4 times. Have recently converted MBR to GPT, installed nvme drive (vertical slot) under (much needed) guidance from TenForums. Absolutely do not think any of the changes made are responsible for the BSOD; there again, "I know nothing", just about sums up my PC knowledge.

    Have read & followed the BSOD posting instructions - hopefully correctly. I'm attaching the log file created:
    Attachment 302128

    I'll post this lot now as the hdd's are each going to take a minimum of 3.5 hrs to run a full error scan (2 x 2TB) - HD Sentinel shows them both as Perfect (in overview).Will post the rest of requested later.

    Had another BSOD this morning, a few minutes after logon, no more than 4 minutes uptime. Same error as this request.

    The BSOD problem you have is due to a USB3 driver. Along with the BSOD crashes you are also getting a number of live kernel events that point directly to a USB3 driver problem.

    I would look for updated drivers for your SuperSpeed USB3 hub and any other generic USB3 hubs. It maybe possible to do this via Windows Update looking in the "View optional updates" section to see if there are any driver updates waiting there. To quickly get to this section simply type view optional updates into the search area next to the start menu and select the item.

    That was my first thought after a quick look at the V2 log - USBHub3.sys was mentioned several times. I'm not getting any 'optional updates' when I try the search facility next to the start button.

    The USB3 ports at back of PC are Asmedia driver + there is an header for 2 x USB3 + 2 x USB2 ports at front of PC - which are not ASmedia. I know very little about PC's, so I'm not even sure where to look for a driver Asus site (I have an old x99 deluxe mb) or ASmedia site?

    But thank you for trying to assist, it is appreciated & would undoubtedly normally be enough info to guide the average user. Unfortunately I need step -by -step guidance and even then I am more that capable of messing things up!

    I guess you do not have any other USB hubs attached to your system?

    USBHub3.sys is a Microsoft Driver so unless MS updates it there is nothing you can do. Generally it is not the MS drivers that are the problem so I would be inclined to update the USB drivers for your motherboard (Version 1.16.35.1)

    @philc43

    Thank you for the follow-up. I have followed your link & installed the ASmedia v 1.16.35.1 driver for the mb. Confirmed install in device manager.

    Would/should this also fix the 'kernel events' you mentioned in your initial message?

    Thanks for that link - it's that level of hand-holding that I (unfortunately) need when it comes to PC issues.

    Yes, I believe it should help with the live kernel events that I reported were happening.

    My suggestion is to carry on using your system for a while and see how it behaves. After say 24h post a new set of logfiles and I can look to see if the corrected hardware errors have stopped. You were getting them regularly everyday.

    @philc43

    Thank you again, I'll keep using system as you suggest - zbook is still awaiting many more results from me, so the PC is going to be busy!

    And I shall post more recent logs (as per my first post) in 24hrs. Fingers crossed - default position for me
