5MB is to big.
Please stop with copying CBS.log or the CbsPersist_2020nnnnnnnnnn.log files. They are almost never needed. If they are they can easily be copied manually.
Note that there can be one CBS.log and from 1 to n CbsPersist_2020nnnnnnnnnn.log files.
Z, I don't know why you're harping on this but I really don't want the collection of CBS.log automated.
Also, what is the PS1 you keep mentioning. I recognize the other stuff you mention but that one doesn't ring a bell.
As for the size of CBS.log, it will never be larger than 50KB. When it hits that, it gets renamed to CbsPersist_2020nnnnnnnnnn.log file and a new CBS.log gets started.
Matthew, copying it to the Desktop and running SFC to gen a new one is ridiculous. How does this aid in BSOD debugging? See my previous line. If you want new SFC data, run Tuneup1.bat then SFCfromFile.bat. If anything, change SFCfromFile to collect data from all CBS*log files so you get current and historical data. As it is now, it checks for CBS.log. If not there it takes gets data from CbsPersist*.log. I wonder if that gets data from all existing CbsPersist*.log files or just the first one it finds?
A CBS folder may include:
a) multiple CbsPersist
b) CheckSUR.log
d) DeepClean.log
e) FilterList.log

The OP reported problems running a bat file in post #28:

I right-clicked on the link in post #31 in that thread, and downloaded it with no issues using Edge.
That means the remname and create process is not working. FOudn this:
Try that for Windows 10 and see if it still works. If it does, CBS.LOG should be renamed to CbsPersist_2020nnnnnnnnnn.log. The next time Trusted Installer or SFC runs a new CBS.LOg will be created.
As a workaround, on Windows 7, if the "Windows Modules Installer" service is stopped, then starting it appears to trigger the log rotation process that creates a fresh cbs.log file and moves the old file into a compressed CbsPersist .cab archive. My 500mb log file got compressed down to 30mb.
