    Another thread with posting problems:

    https://www.tenforums.com/general-su...ml#post2078949

    Code:
I kept failing to copy the Tuneup.bat results, sorry about that
    Below is my 3rd attempt.
I notice in the first run of your script, that it was found some errors and it fixed them it seems.

    Clicking on the hyperlinks opens:

There is a noticeable delay / hang before a copy and paste can be used:

    Same for others:

System instability with new processor / mobo

OP reported problems posting results in post #17:

    Code:
Attached is the output of the Tuneup.bat script. I couldn't get it to post cleanly formatted so I preferred to put it in a separate text file to not make your eyes bleed
Because he didn't follow the directions. Can't make it much more explicit than that.
I can't help it that people don't know how to use the forum but if they follow the directions it will allow them to post text that will format and display correctly.

Rather not, let's fix the Powershell problem if there is one.

Tell me what is wrong with code as it stands now, don't revert to VBS.

Would be nice if I could reproduce the problem.

After you run Tuneup.bat, this is the instruction window you get. 3rd and 4th paragraphs tell the user exactly what to do to get the data to format correctly, the 5th paragraph tells them how to check to see if it's formatted correctly.

At the bottom it tells them to press V to go to the web site for Detailed Instructions, and they are indeed detailed and speific. I don't see how I can giver better instructions.

Have you ever really looked at them and followed the directions to see what it does for you?

For log collecting the goal is to make it easier to help OP.

For V2 there are instructions that are clear to us.
For the bat files there are also instructions that appear clear to us.

For V2 the thread can be started in another forum and moved to the BSOD forum.
We cannot tell where the thread was started.
If it were started in the general forum and moved to the BSOD forum the OP would not have seen the posting instructions.

For the bat files there are no thread transfers.

Were the OP unable to read the instructions?
Were the OP unable to understand the instructions?
Did the OP choose to disregard the instructions?

If the instructions are in English and the OP cannot read English how are they impacted?
Will they know how to copy the instructions to notepad or google translate?

If there are threads in which our task changes from troubleshooting windows problems to troubleshooting windows problems and script problems we then have more tasks or more delays or both.

So the questions need to be answered:
    a) what prevented the OP from following the instructions
    b) what can be done to improve the instructions

If it were started in the general forum and moved to the BSOD forum the OP would not have seen the posting instructions.
Then it's up to us to tell then what they need to do which as far as I can tell we are doing.

So the questions need to be answered:
    a) what prevented the OP from following the instructions
    b) what can be done to improve the instructions
Agreed. Need to ask the OP when a problem occurs with a batch file:

    1. Did they read and follow the instructions shown in the blue info screen?
    2. Did they use the V key in the blue screen info window to go to the BSOD repository and read the explicit instructions there?
    3. If they have read the instructions, what didn't they understand? What can we do to make things clearer?

If the instructions are in English and the OP cannot read English how are they impacted?
Nothing we can do about a person who's native language is not English. They have to ask for help if they don't understand.

In case the OP cannot read English they need to know how to translate the instructions.

Many end users can use a camera or smartphone camera but this does not help with google translate.

In order to have the instructions translated they need to perform these steps:

right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into notepad > copy and paste into google translate
