On a hunch I removed a usb hub and straight away I could get into the bios. No idea why.
Used the iso and everything is back up and running. Could the hub be the cause of all of this?
Turn on the Intel iGPU.
Run:
Download Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant
1) uninstall the Nvidia GPU driver using DDU (display driver uninstaller)
2) re-install the Nvidia GPU driver from the Nvidia website
3) make sure that you check the clean install box and if available install the physx driver.
Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.2.7 (or newer version if available)

For any BSOD:
a) run the V2 log collector to collect new log files
b) open file explorer> this PC > C: > in the right upper corner search for: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
> if the file size is < 1.5 GB then zip > post a separate share link into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive
When possible run Memtest86 > testing can be performed overnight
Okay, done. No BSOD. I'll run memtest tonight.
Thank you.
Could it be the usb hub causing issues?
More testing is needed.
The opening post had 5 mini dump files.
3 of 5 crashes displayed Avast drivers.
The recent memory dump displayed Nvidia GPU drivers.
So so far there have been 2 misbehaving drivers.
More information is needed to rule in / rule out hardware.
Completed the first memtest with errors so didn't run a second one.

Yes, this confirms one of your modules is faulty. Please remove one of the modules and retest. Repeat with the other to identify which one is faulty. You can then continue to operate with the one good module for testing purposes.
First module faulty, second good. Running on single stick now.
Please post images and text report.
Crucial System Scanner
I didn't save the file or take photos as I thought I was just looking for the bad ram. I'll need to replace it so does it matter?
That Crucial scanner is a great program.
Thank you so much for your help thus far.
BTW I've found that there is an issue with the USB hub and it seems relatively common. Why it started just now when I've used it for ages I have no idea.
