I know I should check my RAM, however I'd like to rule out other potential causes first.

Both of these are diagnostic tools designed to test Random Access Memory (RAM) for faults. They will verify that:
- RAM will accept and keep random patterns of data sent to it
- There are no errors when different parts of memory try to interact
- There are no conflicts between memory addresses
They run from bootable media to isolate the RAM from the system, no other components are taken into account during the test.
Warning
MemTest86+ and Memtest86 need to run for at least 8 passes to be anywhere near conclusive, anything less will not give a complete analysis of the RAM. The new version of Memtest86 only allows 4 passes for the free version so run it twice, back to back.
If you are asked to run MemTest86+ or Memtest86 by a Ten Forums member make sure you run the full 8 (or 4+4) passes for conclusive results. If you run less than 8 passes you will be asked to run it again.
Note
Both of these diagnostics has been known to discover errors in RAM in later passes than the eighth pass. This is for information only; if you feel there is a definite problem with the RAM and 8 passes have shown no errors feel free to continue for longer.
Running 8 passes of MemTest86+ or 4+4 passes of Memtest86 is a long and drawn out exercise and the more RAM you have the longer it will take. It's recommended to run it overnight, starting just before you go to bed and leave it overnight.
Take a picture when done and post in the forum please.

Can I burn that onto a CD-R and use it that way, even though this system does have a UEFI BIOS?

Unless there's a reason I shouldn't, I'm largely unfamiliar with bootable USB's (seems a waste of a 16GB stick, too) and I still have and use an ODD and discs. Besides which, I'm uncertain if my UEFI BIOS is setup to be able to use bootable USB (I'm aware older of them have potential issues with that) whereas I know for a fact it is for bootable discs.
Unfortunately, if the test does come up failed, I won't be able to swap the DIMMs. I have a massive HSF and it would just be too much hassle to keep messing with it (aside from which, I don't have any thermal paste on hand). Hopefully a snap of the failed result will suffice for Corsair in a warranty claim. I'm still hoping to be able to make use of this system as a backup/tester when I've finally moved on to a Ryzen build (sooner than I'd wanted but oh well).
So, I'll burn that and set it to run tonight. It's been so long though... I just restart with the bootable disc in and it'll get me in, correct?
I suppose I should also ask, is there a right and wrong way to burn a bootable ISO like this? Burn speed, and such?
Burn at lowest speed available. You have 8GB so it won't take all that long to run, probably 3-4 hours tops.
Any error indicates a defective memory DIMM. Take a picture of the failure so you can upload it here and also send to Crucial.
As for booting the CD, it depends on how you have the boot order set in BIOS/UEFI. If you have a BIOS system and the CD as the first boot device it may boot to it with no problem but if it's UEFI and you have Secure Boot enabled it may not boot. You may have to disable Secure Boot. Not a big deal, just boot to Setup, go to the Security tab (probably) and disable Secure Boot. Make sure CD is the first boot device. Save and Exit and it should boot into memtest86.

Ugh. Yeah, I'm ~70% into the first pass and there's 114 errors already. Damn. (I can't seem to upload pics on a mobile to the forum). Suppose there's no point to letting it run the full gambit...
Edit: I did let it run a full pass. Ouch. 128 fails.

Ouch! Definite defective ram. Even a single failure means bad ram.
One thing you can try is re-seat the ram by removing it and then reinserting it. Sometimes this resolves failures caused by dirty contacts. Worth trying.
If it doesn't make any difference, I would replace both 4GB memory modules with new, identical ones or upgrade to more memory. Max is 32GB so you could replace them with two 8GB modules or two 16GB modules, just make sure they are on the vendor QVL list.
I'm sure hoping it is just the RAM. Going to try CML16GX3M2A1600C10.
In case it isn't just a bad DIMM... I'm curious if it can still work using the two other slots instead (can't remember if that's just a performance penalty or if it would refuse to POST unless all 4 slots are used).
