    Error 0xc000021a on Windows 10

    Hello everyone,

My notebook with Windows 10 is showing a blue screen with the error 0xc000021a every time I try to access the Windows.

When I turn on my notebook, it shows the message: 'Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC' and the options: 'Shut down' and 'Advanced options'. I already tried to fix the computer on the 'Advanced options', using several methods that I found on sites and videos, but nothing I tried worked.

For example, if I choose 'Repair your computer' and then 'Startup Repair' on the 'Advanced options', it returns a SrtTrail.txt error. I also tried to run a LOT of commands that I found on the internet in the Command Prompt to try to fix this error, but none worked. I also tried to use a Windows Installation Media on a pendrive, but it was also a fail. I also can't restore the system, because it says there's no system restore points on my computer. And, if I try to boot into safe made, it shows again the blue screen with the error 0xc000021a.

I don't wanna have to reinstall Windows because, even keeping the files, I would lose all my apps and settings.

Does anyone can help me, please? I no longer know what try to fix this error and get back to use my notebook normally. How can I fix my computer without needing to reinstall Windows?

    Thank you

P.S.: sorry for any mistakes in my text, English isn't my first language.

What are the status of the important computer files:
    a) files backed up to another drive or the cloud
    b) backed up images saved to another drive or the cloud
    c) no backed up files or images > files need to be saved
    d) no backed up files or images > files do not need to be saved

Sometimes there is registry corruption causing automatic repair loops.

Find a flash drive that you can format ( > or = 8 GB)

Create a bootable Windows 10 iso:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
    Download Windows 10 ISO File
Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10

Boot the windows 10 iso > click in the left lower corner to repair > troubleshoot > command prompt > type:
    bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No

    reboot

There may be problems with the reboot > take pictures > post error messages and codes

Additional steps pending the error messages and codes.

My case is the alternative c:

    c) no backed up files or images > files need to be saved

I'm almost sure that what caused this error was a graphics driver update. I used the Samsung app (Samsung Update), that already came pre-installed on my device, that recommended an update of the graphics driver. After the update, my notebook started acting weird and suddenly shut down itself some times. One time, it shut down and when I turned it on again, it showed the 0xc000021a error. Now, every time I turn my notebook on, it shows the "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC" message, and the options "Shut down" and "Advanced options".

I tried to boot on safe mode, but didn't work. If I could uninstall the driver update, maybe the problem would be solved.

I also tried to reset the PC keeping my files, using this option from Automatic Repair, but when it was about 50% concluded it stopped the resetting and went back to the Automatic Repair screen.

If I try to run the reset but using the bootable Windows media, will it work?

    Thank you

Please complete the steps in post #6.

Reset save files is only possible booting windows.
However using Windows Recovery Environment (RE) a similar result may be possible (saved files, fresh windows, reinstall drivers and applications.

    Error 0xc000021a on Windows 10

    Hello everyone,

My laptop with Windows 10 is showing a blue screen with the error 0xc000021a every time I try to access the Windows.

When I turn on my laptop, it shows the message: 'Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC' and the options: 'Shut down' and 'Advanced options'. I already tried to fix this error on the 'Advanced options', using several methods that I found on sites and videos, but nothing worked.

If I choose 'Repair your computer' and then 'Startup Repair, it returns a SrtTrail.txt error. I also tried to run a lot of commands that I found on the internet on the Command Prompt, but none worked. I also can't restore the system, because it says there's no system restore points available, and I can't boot into safe mode either.

I also tried to reset the laptop on Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Keep my files. I confirmed on 'Reset' and the laptop started to reset, but when it was about to 50% concluded, unexpectedly my laptop stopped the reset and went back to automatic repair screen. I tried this procedure three times, but the same thing happened in all.

I also created a bootable USB flash drive for Windows 10 and tried to reset the PC using it. But, when I choose 'Repair your computer' and then 'Troubleshoot', it doesn't shows the options: 'Reset this PC' and 'Advanced options', and goes straight to the 'Advanced options' screen.

I also tried to reinstall Windows without losing my files using the installation media, but when I choose the option 'Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings and applications', it shows the following message:

" The upgrade option isn't available if you start your computer using installation media.

If a copy of Windows is already installed on this computer and you want to upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. After Windows has started normally, insert the installation media and run Windows Setup.
    "

I don't know what else to do to fix this error or reset or reinstall Windows without losing my files. Can anyone help me, please?

    Thank you

P.S.: sory for any mistakes in my text, English isn't my first language.
