    USBXHCI.SYS failed BSOD


    I am getting this crash report almost every day now...
    Stop code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    What failed: USBXHCI.SYS

    Previously I thought it was an error while using the USB 3.0 ports on the top of my tower/CPU. However, this latest time it crashed the only USB activity is my logi keyboard and mouse (G Hub running and fully updated) using the USB 2.0 ports on the backside, which has never given me issues previously.

    Running Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 (I may have previously posted incorrectly that I was running version 2004).

    Any specific analysis and guidance regarding the attached dump files would be very much appreciated. Attachment 285987

    See if there is a setting for xHCI mode setting in the BIOS.

    If so, enable it.

    Under USB config in BIOS settings, only option regarding xHCI is "xHCI hand-off" which is enabled.

    Unless you run an older operating system, you don't need this function.

    Meaning I can set it to 'disabled' and it won't cause other issues?

    Is this a fix for what I'm experiencing or just a tip?

    You're running your memory at 933Mhz? The specs for your board say

    DDR3 1066/1333/1600/1866*/2000*/2133*/2200*/2400*/2600*/2666*/2800*/3000*/3100*/3200*/3300*(*OC) HMz

    Might try one of the supported speeds, 1066/1333/1600/1866

    The dump trace (dps) is full of USBXHCI, Wdf01000, ucx01000 and UsbHub3.

    What is the Logitech G Hub? Is it a physical device along with software? Can you remove it and run with the mouse and keyboard plugged directly into the USB 2.0 ports on the back of the system?

    I suspect 933 can be multiplied so you get 1866Mhz.
