Coming back and waking up the laptop to read your last message I first had a DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION bugcheck happening. Zip file attached.
Though, the sleep/wakeup crash scenario was a bit different than usual so I'm thinking that maybe this driver violation is not the 9F bugcheck we're actually hunting for. The normal crash scenario is that when I close the lid, the preparation for sleep takes forever and eventually fails and just powers off the computer. Then when I power on I get a regular fresh boot (BIOS POST screen etc) with a 9F bugcheck in the event log.
The scenario this time seemed to successfully go into sleep, and to also successfully wake up. Wake up takes a bit longer now that driver verification is enabled so I left the computer for a while and the screen saver kicked in. When I came back I pressed a key to wake up the screen and for a fraction of a second I could see my awaken desktop with all programs etc and then the DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION bugcheck happened.
BTW I can see some event log warnings for BTHUSB (Bluetooth) that seem to be new since enabling driver verification.
I might wait with updating the Alps driver and for now only update drivers that get a mention by driver verification? So I keep as much of the system constant as possible while we look for the 9F bug. Does that sound ok?
