Right, will uninstall Hyper-V and will not install any other virtualization for now and just run plain vanilla until I get the wifi card switched. Will see how it goes i the meantime!
BTW: I checked the Alps drivers you linked and they are actually older (2015) than the one delivered by Windows Update (2017). Alps versions numbers are inherently hard to grasp and does not seem to give any clue about which one is newer than the other. As they only deliver drivers directly to manufacturers (no downloads from their own site) I'm thinking maybe the "versions" are manufacturer codes. I've instead checked through copyright stamps in contained driver files to get a clue about age, sigh...
