Not finished yet with the 15 and 16, but for #17, can someone clarify this?

chkdsk /r /v

1) Each disk drive could have various drive letters so when running the chkdsk switches you need to select the applicable drive letter. This is command syntax. So if there were only one drive you could type chkdsk /b /v. If there is more than one drive then chkdsk /b /v C: , chkdsk /b /v D: , chkdsk /b /v E: , etc.

2) Overnight run Macrorit on each drive:

Including the external? The problem seems to be happening regardless of if the external drive is plugged in or not

This is the best time to check the hardware (all drives ).

There will be other hardware tests making a comprehensive test of all major components.
