So just to make sure I'm doing this correctly, I'm downloading the driver found here specifically the 3rd link (the one that starts with 64bit vista) then I'll delete the current driver and install the new one. Is it important that I install the driver in a specific location on the computer?

I'm sorry I can't find the correct driver, it doesn't seem like they have the correct one on their website. I've seen it from dell's site but my computer isn't from them so I'm not too sure.

Realtek drivers here: PC Audio Codecs > High Definition Audio Codecs Software - REALTEK
Scroll down to the Windows section
Scroll down to this: 64bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1, Windows10 Driver only (Executable file)..
Download the executable file and double click on it to install

Why are you linking to some old version of the drivers? Have OP download new drivers from the Microsoft Update Catalog - https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...x?q=6.0.8924.1

That is the official Realtek download site.
OP said they had trouble finding the correct drivers.

I'm happy that you found what seems to be a more updated version.
And, I hope that it helps the OP.

The problem is that the drivers on the OFFICIAL website of Realtek are outdated and WRONG for the majority of audio codecs currently used in motherboards, hence my proposal to use the Microsoft Update Catalog which, after all, is the source of all updates for Windows Update, so it is trusted
