BSOD - ATTEMPTED_SWITCH_FROM_DPC while playing games

    Hello,

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I made a new build recently and keep getting this BSOD while playing games. Specifically the new call of duty; it barely happens in any other games.

OS: Windows 10 x64 Pro Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.815)

    Specs:
    -CPU: Intel I7 9700k
-Motherboard: Asus Maximus XI Hero (wi-fi) [Only have the 8pin connected as I didn't have an extra 4 pin cable and it said (optional)]
-GPU: EVGA Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080ti
-RAM: 32gb Corsair Vengence LED 3400Mhz (4x8GB, running at 2133Mhz by default without XMP)
-PSU: CORSAIR CSM Series, CS750M, 750 Watt, 80+ Gold Certified, Semi Modular Power Supply
-Cooler: Corsair 115i Pro (link cable is connected to the NZXT Internal 2.0 USB HUB which is connected to the motherboard's USB 2.0 connection)
    -M.2: Samsung 950 PRO
    -SSD: 2TB Samsung 860 EVO
-HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 3TB Internal Hard Drive HDD 3.5 Inch SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache (ST3000DDM008-2DM166)
-NZXT Internal 2.0 USB HUB (shares connectors with front of case and corsair link cable)
    Monitors:
-ACER Predator (1440p) 32in QHD Curved Monitor
-ACER 4k Monitor (not sure of the model number I can get it if needed)
    -Keyboard: Steelseries Apex M750
    -Mouse: Steelseries Rival 600
-Headset: Sennheiser Game Zero (Plugged directly into the motherboard)

I have the BIOS set to optimized defaults with wi-fi/bluetooth disabled. I have tried leaving it enabled (it didn't matter).

I have tried a fresh windows 10 install on my m.2 drive three times, once with only Microsoft windows update/default drivers, and twice with the manufacture's most recent drivers from ASUS, Nvidia, Samsung, Corsair, and Steelseries directly from their websites.

Windows is fully up to date and I have ran CHKDSK on all 3 drives. I have done sfc /scannow (first time it fixed something, second time no errors).

The computer has passed memtest86 twice (I have the free version so a total of 8 passes), The video card is not overclocked at all, and I have ran FurMark GPU Stress test for 30min with no artifacts and about 65c Temp. I have ran RealBench for 4 Hours with 32BG of RAM, then again for 8 Hours with 32GB of ram (no errors), also CPU temps are fine. I have ran driver verifier for about 8 hours total while using the PC and got no BSOD's, then disabled it to play call of duty and got another ATTEMPTED_SWITCH_FROM_DPC BSOD.

Whats the next step... I seem to be out of options here. The only thing I could even think of looking into is the NZXT USB HUB and the corsair link cable, because all the BSOD's seem to be related to "usbccgp.sys" (I used WhoCrashed to look at the dumps), but I don't really know what to look for.

I seem to only have 2 log files, should I delete them and upload a new one each crash or leave them alone and update them on google drive once I get more BSOD's?

Here are the files I have uploaded to my good drive: BSOD Issues - Google Drive

    Thank you for any help.

Please don't delete any reports, we can use them all.

Next, with such a nice system, why scrimp on the PSU?
Could you provide a link to where it says the 4 pin cable is optional?

Please use ZIP for the compression of files/folders
And please upload the reports as attachments to your post.
I cannot extract CrashDumps.rar after downloading it - it's possibly corrupted.
Running the lone memory dump from the Desktop report now...…...

WhoCrashed isn't always accurate (it's a built in issue with the way Windows runs - not the fault of WhoCrashed).

usbccgp.sys is a Windows system file. Windows system files are rarely at fault (but we don't rule them out completely - long discussion to explain why). That being said, it's interesting to note that USB could be an issue - but for a different reason.
The Silicone Labs USBExpress drivers date from 2010 - and are likely not fully compatible w/Windows 10. I strongly suggest uninstalling that program.

ScreamingB audio driver dats from 2016
That program should be uninstalled also

The memory dump blames code/memory corruption as the fault here.
I don't know what settings you used for Driver Verifier, but I'd like you to try it again using the settings at this link: Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

Let it run for 36 hours - or until you get it to save a memory dump (it can slow the system down(.
If it crashes quickly, let it crash 3 times (3 memory dumps will give us more data to compare).
Try playing Call of Duty to see if you can make it crash more quickly.
But don't let that stop you from Zipping and uploading the first crash with your next post.

Also, as we seem to be focusing on USB, please let us know which USB devices are connected to the system.
Be as specific as you can, it'll help in identifying areas of concern.

PS - try running "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) from the Run dialog (Win and R keys)
It'll open the Reliability Monitor - which may give you more clues on what's up.

    Good luck!

Thank you I will work on that once I get off work.

Sorry for the lack of dump files, as I have reformatted 3 times and not saved them. Once I get another BSOD will it overwrite the old file, or will it add to the dump file? I just want to make sure the dumps are configured properly so hopefully we can resolve this.

The ScreamingBee audio driver is for a program that I use often, but I will try to uninstall it and see if the BSOD still occurs.

Regarding the "The Silicone Labs USB Express" drivers... I have never installed said drivers/program so I don't know what it is from. I think it is related to my motherboard WiFi/Bluetooth after a Google search. I do not see any drivers for USB or WiFi/Bluetooth on the ASUS website for my motherboard.

As for the PSU, I recently bought the XI hero and 9700k; the PSU was from my old motherboard/CPU which was an ASUS IX Code with a 6700k. I have not upgraded the PSU but if it turns out to be part of the problem I can upgrade it. I will look into seeing if I can hook up the 4 pin connector and disconnecting the NZXT USB 2.0 HUB because it is no longer needed due to the motherboard change.

In my specs I also forgot to include my blue ray drive which is an LG WH16NS40 Super Multi Blue Internal SATA 16x Blu-ray Disc Rewriter; and also a 2 meter red LED strip (NZXT CB-LED20-RD). I don't know if that information will be of any use.

The only devices connected to the PC via USB ports are my mouse and keyboard.

Could you provide a link to where it says the 4 pin cable on the PSU00 is optional?

I suggest uninstalling the Corsair software. Silicone Labs drivers don't have any info on what they've been installed from.
You can try browsing Properties/Details of the different devices in Device Manager - start with the USB devices (at the bottom)

Also uninstall the software for the NZXT hub and physically remove it from the system. The less extra stuff that's installed - the easier it'll be to troubleshoot.

Then run Driver Verifier as described in my previous post.
That should generate crashes (and dump files) and we'll work from there.

    Good luck!

Thanks, I have my computer running with driver verifier set up properly, it has been running for about 15 hours now with no BSOD yet.

I have played some COD with it on and left it running in the lobby scren while at work.

I disconnected the NZXT USB hub but it did not come with any drivers or software.

I am posting this from mobile so when I get off work I will send you the page from the motherboard manual where it says...

"Ensure to connect the 8 pin power plug, or connect both the 8 pin power plug and the 4 pin power plug"

Here is the page from the motherboard manual, it suggested that you use 12 pins but says connect the 8pin or the 8 and 4 pin connections.

So far, removing the NZXT USB hub has seemed to have fixed the problem so far, I have played COD all night with no BSOD yet. I will keep you posted.

The problem must have been the NZXT USB Hub, the issue seems to be resolved after removing it, no more BSODs. Thanks for your help.

Who Crashed and Nirsoft's BlueScreenView don't necessarily trace memory address' well.
This is due to address space layout randomization (ASLR): Address space layout randomization - Wikipedia

A while back I had an email conversation with Nir Sofer (of NirSoft) and he explained it in much more detail (and it was very difficult for me to fully understand). But, in short, ASLR may cause some address' to not be properly recognized by WhoCrased or BlueScreenView.

    That's half the story.

I wonder if WhoCrashed, Bluescreen Viewer and other programs use the arguments of a bugcheck. Yes, these arguments have sometimes random addresses but ASLR is a limitation that can be worked around and the output those programs provide with certain bugchecks is pretty much useless until you look into the arguments.
