Furmark mainly tests whether the GPU can represent the graphical interface properly. What you should be looking out for are artifacts within the rendering and the temperature of the GPU.

Furmark does not show any errors, in the technical form, as errors indicate improper behavior of the program. If you mean 'errors' as in 'improper representation of the rendering', then Furmark does show it.

    Hi tenforums,

I recently got a newly build machine and have gotten an average of 5 BSOD per day, mostly with CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED.

These is the summary of my machine specs:
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor
GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GTX 1660 SUPER
    MB: ASUS B450M-PLUS GAMING
SSD: SPCC M.2 512GB (OS installed here)
    HDD: Toshiba 1TB HDD (empty)
    RAM: 16GB
    OS: Windows 10 Home 1909, 10.0.18363 Build 18363

    Problem description:
    1. BSOD happens randomly, starts with a program (no particular application) freezing, followed by BSOD. Sometimes, no BSOD just blank screen and restarts.
    2. Dump stuck at 0%, no crash dump created, computer reboots.
    3. Upon reboot, goes to BIOS. No SSD detected. (HDD is there tho)
    4. Remedy - Press power button twice to force shutdown and start again. Boots Windows 10 via SSD as per normal.

    Solution tried:
    1. Check all hardware connections. Looks OK. Note: All hardware is new.
    2. All drivers installed & updated. BIOS also checked, running latest BIOS
    3. "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth" & "../ScanHealth" & "/RestoreHealth" done. No issues
    4. "sfc /scannow" done. No issues
    5. Re-installed a CLEAN Windows 10 again (wiped out all data) - did not solve the issue
    6. Memory Diagnostics Results OK
    7. chkdsk /scan OK

I have attached my log collector zip results in the post.
I would appreciate any assistance. It has crushed my dreams of finally having a new PC (which works).

Thank you so much for you assistance. Let me know if you need more info.

    Hi @duckeh,

I know this post has almost a year but I'm having the same issue with a Corsair MP400 1TB Gen3 x4 in an Asus Rog strix x570 e-gaming with a Ryzen 7 5800x processor.

Please, could you let us know if you solved this issue and how?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hey Ubuntuman,

I resolved all my problems. I tried all the solutions in this forums but to no avail. Nonetheless the guys here are amazing help.
Turned out, my NVME SSD was faulty. Had it replaced by the shop to a Samsung NVME SSD, and it worked perfectly fine since then.
I suggest removing your SSD (if you have one) and install windows on a separate drive.

Hope you resolve your issues soon!

    Thanks for that @duckeh,

After some additional google session I've found that Windows 10 is having some issues with AMD 2nd and 3rd generation with some Power Plans.
So, I've moved to a High Performance plan making an update:
    - ssd sleep after 0 minutes of no usage.

Additionally I've moved my NVMe ssd to my mobo's M.2_2 port which is more far from GPU anc CPU (M.2_1 was between both of them) and made some benchmark and stress tests over the SSD and till now BSOD dissapeared.

It looks like all is fine now, so I will be monitoring my system for a couple of days and confirm here if all continues ok.

I am having same issue on my asus rog Zephyrus g14. spec: Ryzen 7 4800 HS, 16 gigs, 512 SSD, Nvidia geforce GTX 1660 TI max Q. it has killing performance, but It's just been 45 days since I bought this brand new and already had three BSOD error. every time error occurs, system reboots itself and then I see boot menu saying "Storage device not found". what I do is force shut down using power Butten. but, It really makes me worried. here is what I did so far.

    - Sfc scan > no error.
    - Myasus Hardware diagnosis > no error (one suggestion to increase wifi strength, not important i guess )
    - MyAsus BSOD error check > No error
    - Checked BIOS - updated and good
    - checked for all drivers update on the device managers - everything is up to date.
    - observed pc behavior - Thermals are good, performance is good.
    - contacted Asus support they think its Hardware problem, so asked me to send the device which I cannot afford because this is my work PC. while I think it's software problem.

I wrote to you because you seem to have promising solution. I think if the SSD is faulty I would have known by now, but it doesn't seem so.
all in all, everything is fine except this occasional BSOD and then SSD detection problem.

I run my laptop on the laptop cooling pad even if I am performing normal task.
I also use external keyboard and mouse, if you think it causes any problem, but that's unlikely.

Both the time BSOD occurred, I was just watching you tube videos, which has highest resolution of 480p.

You mentioned something about power plans which looks promising solution. can you please tell me what might cause the problem for my zephyrus G14?

    already thanking you, Ravi.

Interesting thread! I´ve bought a brand new Asus Vivobook X512 and I´m having the same issue. It has a PCIe hard drive.

I have BSOD several times every day.

I´ve notice that when I got BSOD the laptop goes to the BIOS and at that time I cannot see the PCIe hard drive. which means it is not recognized. However when I go out from BIOS and restart windows, it works perfectly .

I´ll try to run windows from a USB drive and see what happen. My assumption is that if works fine, then the issues is the SSD. What do you think? Any idea?

    Thanks!

It's theoretically also possible that the connection has gotten a little loose, but due to warranty there's not much to do about that. The safest option here would be returning it, or at least getting the one who sold you this pc to fix it either by reconnecting the SSD or straight up replacing it.

Yeah! The funny thing is that I bought the laptop in the US and I'm in Argentina now where the warranty doesn't cover any issue! So.... I'm all ears to listen to your ideas!!! 😜

If that's really the case, do you have experience opening a computer (laptop or desktop) or do you know someone that does? Asking this, because to fix the possibility of a loose connection you need to open it which has quite some risks. You would need to ground yourself before opening any pc to ensure you won't accidentally damage any hardware inside by a mere touch on the wrong place. You could easily fry something without even noticing it and end up with a dead pc.

Next step before opening the pc is more preparations, particularly with the screws, you want to keep all the screws for each area or layer separated and in small (plastic) boxes so you don't loose any and don't have any leftovers when finishing. First time I opened my laptop, while I had experience at the time, I had some screws left that didn't fit anywhere and also some holes to fill. I did keep everything in boxes and all, but I probably had mixed up some of them so labeling the boxes also helps.

You also should lookup how to open your pc, most laptops have different designs and different methods for opening them. Regardless of who will be doing it, they most likely will need to learn how to open your laptop.

This is what I did and the results.

    1. I created a External HD booteable Windows (no that easy!) Advice: Don't use a USB stick, it doesn work. I used a HHD connected to the USB port.
    2. Once the new OS was done, I booted my laptop from the external unit and I've been using it for some time whit no BSOD.

Conclusion: By not using the internal SSD and using external HHD BSOD has gone, that make me think that the issue is on my SSD and therefore I should get a new one!

    Ideas, thoughts?

    Thanks!
