Numerous BSOD errors with no Dump Files beiong created.

    Hi

I am receiving a number of different BSOD crashes, these always occur when using specific programs and happen about 0-5 minutes after launching the program however they also happen sporadically for no reason but a lot less often.

    the main BSOD errors are:
    - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    - Critical Process Died

However I have had other errors occur,

TO make things harder Windows is also not writing Dump Files, Start up and Recovery settings are set correctly but when BSOD occurs it will just hang on 0% until I reset.

I have tried a fresh install of windows from ISO file after formatting the main drive a couple of times, with the last install about an hour ago, as soon as I installed and ran one of the programs I have issues with and it crashed straight away, the error still occurs and Dump files are still not being written.

I have stress tested Memory, CPU, GPU, etc pretty extensively and haven't had a hiccup, no errors, crashes hangs etc however when launching specific programs the error will still occur within 0-5 mins.

This one has me a bit stuck so appreciate any help I can get!!

As you rightly say there are no crash dump files.

I would suggest that you reduce the memory clock speed to 2666MHz. It is currently set too high for the system at 3000MHz. If you check your CPU specs you will see that it is not recommended to use speeds higher than 2666MHz.

    Hey Philc43

Thanks for the advice, I did have an OC profile on at the time of the last crash but I have also had it happen with the default settings including the 2666Mhz clock speed.

I've reverted back to the 2666Mhz clock speed as you suggested and if it happens again i'll post up a new Log file.
    Cheers

OK I agree, please post a new set of logfiles if you get any further problems. We do not like to troubleshoot with any OC present because it nearly always increases the likelihood of a BSOD.

Hi, just had another BSOD and again no Dump files that I can see, this was with stock settings and no OC profile set as advised.

I have included the new logfiles in the same dropbox folder and re-linked below, both sets of logfiles are in the dropbox and dated.

Just in addition to the above I'm also now getting 'System Service Exception' BSOD Errors fairly frequently along with the previously mentioned IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and Critical Process Died errors. I've also had one instance of a 'Kernel Security Check' error however this has only occurred once. I've done another Logfile after this latest crash and included within the same dropbox folder.

Thanks for the new logfiles but there continues to be no crash dumps being saved that we can analyse. I also cannot find a record in the event logs of the BSOD so it is difficult to provide an analysis. At this stage we are having to make guesses. What stress test did you use to check your memory?

I used MemTest86+ for 10 passes (2 runs at 5 passes each) after a day and a bit it finished with 0 errors, that was about a week ago though and unfortunately didn't save the log files at the end.

Are there any possible fixes I could try in order to get a dump file written if these are needed to troubleshoot? I've tried most of the generic methods I can find but non have helped thus far.

So after another fresh install of windows and loading drivers one by one I think I've finally identified the culprit, Nvidia seems to have imbedded some screen capture software within the latest set of drivers (or maybe its been there for a while) called 'Ansel' which was trying to overlay above certain programs, from what I could tell whenever one of these programs was launching it was triggering 'Ansel' to start and crashing the system. from what I could find you cant uninstall 'Ansel' as its within the GPU drivers themselves but I was able to find a way to disable it and haven't had a single issue since!

Thanks for all your help philc43, I know it was nearly impossible to figure out without the dump files but appreciate your time all the same!

Thank you very much for reporting back I will now go back over the logfiles and see if I can spot any clue to it that I might have missed. Well done for troubleshooting it the laborious way, driver by driver.
