Repeated BSOD's, compared with flickering screen and buzzing noise.

Hello, recently I have been having performance issues coupled with recent BSOD's especially when either playing games, or physically moving my computer, which may suggest a hardware problem?

I have attached the log's which I believe only contain 1 log, as I believe the other's deleted which I did by accident, so I apologise there.

The crashes are usually accompanied by a buzzing sound and flickering on the screen. The flickering has happened before sometimes without a crash, usually on boot and then I have to restart which gets rid of the flickering screen.

I have just re-installed my NVIDIA driver with DDU from a clean install, and that seems to work fine but I'm not sure that it was the cause.

Thank you all for your help.

    Hi youngtomlin,

Welcome to the Ten Forum's BSOD forum.

What is the warranty status for the computer?

    1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5) sfc /scannow
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) wmic recoveros set autoreboot = false
    8) wmic recoveros set DebugInfoType = 7
    9) wmic recoveros get autoreboot
    10) wmic recoveros get DebugInfoType
    11) bcdedit /enum {badmemory}
    12) Powercfg -h off

    13) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    14) Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting

    15) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings

    a) > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery > click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery window into the thread

    b) > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > on the performance options window > click on the advanced tab > under virtual memory > click on change > post an image of the virtual memory window into the thread

I'm just guessing here. I suspect your video card as I've seen these symptoms with them before.
    - make sure that the video card's fan is working and that it's clear of dirt/dust/hairballs/etc
    - check to see if your video card is overheating. DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! It can cause 2nd or 3rd degree burns (it's happened to me). Just get close enough to feel if it's putting out excessive heat. Don't rely on sensor readings, as a broken sensor may not register overheating.

If able, try another video card. If there's one built into the motherboard - try that after removing the stand alone card.
If there isn't one onboard, borrow another one to see if that helps.
You can also purchase one from a retailer that'll let you return it for a refund if it's not needed (but that's a bit much for this just being a guess)

    Good luck!

Hello, thank you so much for everyone's help so far.

Here are my results from the tests. I have attached a notepad file of the CMD results and pictures of all of the tests. I couldn't do the health test on my SSD, as nothing shows up.

While I think I am OK at doing things on the computer, I would have no idea what to do in order to access my video card, I was going to take it to a nearby shop to have a look but as it's a laptop I just would worry about making the problem worse.

Thanks again for the help, it seems to be OK as of yet, but the BSOD's have been incredibly irregular.

What is the warranty status for the computer?

    1) First scannow:
    Code:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.

    2) Second scannow:
    Code:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    3) Download and install Samsung Magician:
Samsung Magician Software | Samsung V-NAND SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

    4) Post images of results for:

    Drive Details
    Update software /firmware
    Dignostic Scan > full scan
    Performance Benchmark
    Over Provisioning
    Performance Optimization

    5) For any BSOD:

    a) run the V2 log collector to collect new log files

    b) open file explorer> this PC > C: > in the right upper corner search for: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
    > if the file size is < 1.5 GB then zip > post a separate share link into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

The computer is definitely out of warranty, it's I think about 4 years old. It hasn't crashed yet, but sometimes it goes a week and then crashes twice and then is fine again, very odd.

Samsung Magician I have attached images, however I could not do a diagnostic scan and my SSD was not supported.
According to Magician, they are too hot, which may be a problem.

HD Tune displayed high temps of 54 and 55.

Run HD Sentinel: (free or trial edition)

Sorry, didn't realize it was a laptop.
Most laptops don't have replaceable video cards - so that's not usually an option.
I'd look into checking the cooling what are the temps? (does it feel warm? have you cleaned out the air vents with canned air?) while waiting for the analysis of your test results.

    Hello

Attached images from HD Sentinel. I will clean the fans later, I haven't in a long time so that might be why it's so hot.

I haven't had a crash since I did the testing, and I have cleaned the fans and it seems to be cooler and the performance is better. Thanks for all your guys helps.
