Pc Crashed into a blue screen randomly

My laptop was blue screening at least once a day for over a week.

I followed the advice on another thread and ran the following from the command line: chkdsk c: /scan. It found errors. After it was done it said to reboot to complete the repair. After it was done I logged in and reran chkdsk. It found errors again. I had to do this process 4 times before it would run without finding any errors. Is this normal?

My computer just had a BSOD an hour ago. I was projecting my desktop to my TV using a wireless Bluetooth connection.

Question: Per step 22 I installed the graphic driver from the AMD website. Would it have been better to install the graphic driver from the laptop OEM Acer instead?

The reason I ask is because the new Radeon Settings app has no option for Switchable Graphics. Now I have no way to select the which GPU to use. The new driver may be doing it automatically for me but I have no way to verify that.

    1) The HD Tune full error scan did not finish.
Please run the test overnight and upload an image into the thread.

    3) The computer had 2 GPU in use:

    Code:
Name : AMD Radeon(TM) RX Vega 10 Graphics
    DeviceID : VideoController1
    PNPDeviceID : PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_15DD&SUBSYS_12331025&REV_C3\4&35FEB52A&0&0041

VideoProcessor : AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x699F)

What were you able to do with the older driver that cannot be done with the new driver?
Was this done automatically or manually?

Were there or are there settings in the BIOS with similar menu options?

After posting the Furmark results the Acer VGA can be installed followed by Windows updates.

Returning the graphics driver to the Acer OEM version

I found out the hard way I just can't go back to the Acer graphics driver using Windows update. After I tried that I got a message that stated that the Radeons Setting app was not compatible with the new driver. In fact the Radeons Setting app no longer worked. I was worse than that. The cursor kept randomly jumping around making it hard to select anything. It took me a couple hours to get the AMD driver installed again. I now probably have to first remove all AMD software before using Windows update to reinstall the Acer graphics driver.

BTW, the Display Driver Uninstaller program recommends (for laptops) against using the AMD driver. Instead it suggest one should use the OEM driver.

    I just checked my records:

    AMD download Driver: 26.20.15019.19000 (2/28/2020)
    Radeon Settings app: 20.2.2 (2/28/2020)

Using Windows update Acer Driver: 27.20.1000.17016 (3/13/2020)
    Radeon Settings app: 20.10.00.17

Download the Acer GPU to the desktop.
Place the computer in safe mode to use DDU.
When the AMD GPU is uninstalled it should display graphics using Microsoft default drivers.
Then install the Acer GPU driver from the desktop.

This is what I have done:

    Reinstall Acer graphics driver

    1. Run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V18.0.2.3

    2. Install Acer graphics driver: VGA_AMD_17.40.3705.1005_W10x64
    Result:
    Graphics driver: 23.20.828.1820 (4/10/2018)
    Radeon Settings Version: 2018.0410.2139.37139

    3. In device manager update graphics driver with Windows update
    Result: BSOD

    4. After reboot
    Graphics driver: 27.20.1000.17016 (3/13/2020)
    Radeon Settings Version - 2018.0410.2139.37139

Note that the Radeon Settings app was not updated. I don't know if there is an update for it. I do know that the current version from AMD is not compatible with the current graphics driver.

The only thing that concerns me is the BSOD when using windows update to update the graphics driver. At least the driver has been updated.

    Please perform the following steps:

    1) Turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers:
Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10

    2) Uninstall AMD GPU using DDU

    3) Reinstall from the Acer website

    4) If there are recurrent BSOD caused by AMD GPU drivers install a driver from the AMD website

    5) If there are recurrent BSOD caused by AMD GPU drivers from both Acer and AMD websites plan to swap the GPU card
