I just made a back up of files, a .tib file.
Yes, I see it. I just checked it out. A question I have is what should I image. There all these choices:
Attachment 264412
Macrium chose all for the boot SSD. Do I do all of them?
Yes. What are the implications of imaging the drive?
Again, Thanks.
The files are backed up by copy and paste.
This allows a clean install.
A Macrium backup image allows you to restore the image when there is drive failure if you have an image before hardware failure.
This typically takes < 1 hour and often < 30 minutes.
In contrast copy and paste can take 12 to 36 hours depending on the size of the drive and its speed.
The Sea Tools for Windows reported a long generic fail.
This test is equivalent to the testing accepted by computer manufacturer's for Warranty replacement.
The HD Tune test displayed bad blocks.
Both HD Tune and HD Sentinel displayed problems with SMART results.
These are used to predict drive failure.
For Macrium questions please open a thread in https://www.tenforums.com/backup-restore/
a) how to plan it when replacing a disk drive
b) how to confirm the backup image has been created properly and can be used to restore the image
c) how to restore the image
etc.
I finally threw in the towel, went nuclear option, install a fresh Windows 10. Thanks all.
