Place the computer in safe mode (the longer the continuous testing period the better the testing conditions)
Plan to test for 3 - 5 days or more.
Report into the thread whether this eliminates BSOD or whether they continue.
what exactly am i doing in safe mode? you mean run the verifier tests in safe mode?
Use the computer as you typically do while in safe mode.
No additional testing is being done.
The longer the continuous testing the better the testing conditions.
i dont understand. i cant use any programs in safe mode or wifi. i thought that was the point of safe mode? do you just want me to leave it on the desktop or something for a few days to see if it bsods?
There are 3 options for safe mode:
a) safe mode
b) safe mode with command prompt
c) safe mode with networking
Please use safe mode with networking.
Again, the longer the continuous testing period the better the testing conditions.
For any BSOD upload V2 and post a share link for C:\windows\memory.dmp if the file size is < 1.5 GB.
i have a asus PCI wifi card. i cant figure out how to enable it in safe mode. i tried starting the asus com service but it wont let me. so i have to use an ethernet cable?
It is not ideal to use the computer in safe mode.
It is for testing purposes.
what? that confused me even more. i dont understand what your saying. what testing? you said use it like normal.
The computer performance is different in normal boot, selective boot, clean boot, and safe mode.
This is evaluating the performance in safe mode.
