BSOD Boot Loop - Windows 10 - WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR
Hi All,
First post here, so please be gentle!
I usually don't post much in forums, as I can usually get around most errors on PC's through the usual google research, forum trolling etc. But I am really at the end of what is an exhaustive search.
I had a Windows 10 device stop posting, going into an infinite loop of Windows 10 couldn't start, having to go through the recovery side, attempting start up repairs etc, to absolutely no joy. I've been down the path of launching into the Command Prompt and running the tools like bootrec or bcdboot with various switches but again at no success. I've been in and out of disk part, I've lost boot partitions, i've recreated partitions, and I've also converted from the MBR to GPT disk to use UEFI, but I just cannot get the system to boot.
I can however, boot Windows 10 into Safe Mode, so I know I have a working OS behind the bullsh!t, but cannot get it to post. When I use the ISO to boot Windows 10 into the repair mode, it may take up to 10 tries to get to the initial Windows 10 setup screen after the WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR or just a general stop and unhappy face. When I do get in, sometimes I'll get that same error when i run the Startup repair tool in the menu.
What I'm asking is this: I have accidently deleted my original boot partitions. I still have the windows partition available. I have converted the disk from Basic to GPT. The original installation of Windows 10 was on the basic disk. I have been through a guide on creating the necessary partitions for UEFI - creating a 100MB System EFI partition, a 16 MB MSR partition, a recovery tools partition around 384 MB. Bootrec /fixboot gives me an access denied so i'm guessing thats because i converted to GPT. So i've used the commands from BCDBOOT, pointing to the C installation of windows and my EFI drive (after giving it a drive letter through diskpart) using the command bcdboot c:\windows /s s: /f all (or directly uefi). I get success confirmations, but boot returns to the same error. It attempts to boot, gives me 0xc0000000001 errors (giving me options to go into Safe mode etc, boot into uefi but none work). It ends up trying again and gives me an error 0xc000000000098 (not sure on the correct amount of 0's). I seem to be in an endless loop of getting to a state of I think i've got it sorted to a boot loop to a WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR.
ANY Advice at this point would be appreciated. I don't want to reinstall Windows 10 if i can avoid it - too much to put back on. I can of course backup any content off it since i can get into Safe Mode. Surely there has to be a way i can get around this. I can provide whatever information you guys need.
Windows 10 is the latest version 1909 i think it is. I can pull this from windows safe boot if needed.
Thanks for readin.
