Thinkpad T440P Intermittent crashing on sleep.

    OS: Windows 10 - 1903 - (Build 18362. 449)
    Thinkpad T440P - Core i7 4600M - 16gb ddr3

    Hi there,

I am experiencing crashes when my laptop should be going to sleep. When I go to open my laptop it often boots up instead of resuming from sleep. This seems to have only just become an issue since I updated windows. I've tried googling this issue but it seems like a mixed bag of results and most solutions I've found so far have not remedied it.

I have attached my logs here:

    Thank-you for your time.

    Hello,

    First run a virus scan.

Then go to the tutorial section, at top of page, search for 'Uninstall Windows Update in Windows 10'

If it fixes your issue, turn off automatic updates for a few days. Then check for updates manually. Once it starts downloading, leave it alone for an hour to complete it's task.

Afterwards, test Laptop's behavior, did the issue return?

Search in tutorial section for "Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10"

Afterwards, turn automatic Windows updates back on.

    update

A little update on my issue.

After following Morgans directions, I woke this morning to find that my computer had once again failed to go to sleep but instead crashed and had to be rebooted completely. I've run the log collector again after rebooting the computer and those have been attached to this post.

    Thank-you.

You did say the problem started after Windows update. If that were so, then removing the update should have undone the damage.

If not, you have other problems with you PC, not anything I caused.

Perhaps, a system restore will help, go back to a time before the last Windows update.

You can also try running system file checker (sfc /scannow) how to is in tutorials.

You can run a clean boot while diagnosing. how to is in tutorials.

You can reinstall the Windows update.

You can go into tutorial and search for "How to Allow or Prevent Devices to Wake Computer in Windows 10"

Anyway, hope you get it sorted. Best wishes!

Looking at the latest dump, here is some info from the blocked irp:

It shows Netwbw02.sys is the driver that caused the problem:
    Driver Description:
Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Driver - Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Adapter
Driver Update Site: Drivers & Software

Check the Intel site for a newer driver, see if that helps.

Thanks Z I will give my drivers an update and see if this helps.

Morgan, if other solutions do not work I will see about rolling back my updates to see if that helps at all.

Will report back in a few days.

    Thanks both.

Looks like Ztruker's solution was the right fix. I reinstalled my intel wireless drivers and have been able to allow my laptop to sleep without any issues now. Thanks everybody!
