System Freezes ~10 Seconds At A Time Frequently Past Few Days

Hello WinTen Team! Thank you for all that you do for us.

I have read the BSOD posting instructions and my System Specs are current.

I am finding that every few minutes and sometimes more my Win10 system is freezing completely. Seems it's about 10 seconds, sometimes more. Any playing video stops, mouse is unresponsive. Have kept an eye on Task Manager and performance tab but I don;t see the cause. I have cleared cache in Chrome, run CCleaner, Full scan with Malwarebytes paid and with Norton. Also have updated NVIDIA card to latest release driver. No Windows updates pending.
I know I have a lot of things running, especially uploaders for my cloud data (in particular Stablebit CludDrive) but it's been fine for long time, not sure what changed.

Log collector V2 Logs attached along with (4) files the uploader seemed to create.

    Thanks for any guidance!!
    Phil

    Hi, forgive the obvious questions:
    What happens
    a. if you do a clean boot
    b. in Safe Mode

    Do you see any difference?

    Thanks.

I have not tried running in SAFE mode. Will give that a try...please tell me specifically what you mean by a 'clean boot'?

    What is a clean boot?

    - Google is great at questions like that. Very well recognised term. = no added startups of 3rd party programs.

    Attachment 248787

or please see the tutorial - in the Tutorial section here.

Noted you have Nordvpn. Users have reported problems with a recent Windows update with that.
    Please see
    Cumulative Update KB4515384 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.356 Sept. 10

    - comments following. Does anything else reported there ring bells?

That's assuming you have build 1903.
What is your full Windows build number?

Settings, About or Win key + r, winver

    Antivirus/security programs
You mention: Full scan with Malwarebytes paid and with Norton. You also have Spybot, Acronis anti ransomware..
How many active real-time AV programs do you have running?

    Thanks.

I guess your laptop freezes for a few minutes and recovers by itself.

It might be due to a program glitch or overheating issues. Checking the Reliability Monitor will give you more information on it.

Type Reliability Monitor on Search and open it.

You can see the critical application failures in the chart.

When you do that, you will need the times at which freezing occurs to see if there is any correlation with those reports.

That means you'll need to note a few of those times, and then see if there's a corresponding crash report.

At present it looks as if those reports have been cleared- perhaps after running Ccleaner?

Thank you for your comments and suggestions.

Windows Version is 1903 Build 18362.356

I didn't see anything regarding NordVPN in the link to the update you posted, although a lot of it is over my head in technical detail. I have not been using NordVPN often at all, but could remove it if need be.

As for the anti-virus and FW programs...I have both Norton Security and Malwarebytes programs active. I didn;t realize Acronis was running and will look at that. I use that just for cloning disks and imaging them etc,...

SpyBot Search and Destroy is run from time to time to inoculate browswer vulnerablities and to scan for Rootkits missed by Norton or MB....Should I kill one or the other may be? Norton or MB? Probably should get Acronis shut down I guess if it's doing something.

1)For the Samsung drives run this additional software test:

Samsung Magician Software | Samsung V-NAND SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

    2) Run HD Sentinel: (free or trial edition) (all drives)
Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring
Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring
Post images of each of these tabs into the thread:
    Overview tab
    Temperature
    SMART
    Disk performance

    3) With an Acronis image the new Macrium image can be skipped.
Alternatively you can test drive the software:
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

    4) There were no dump files collected by the log collector.
    Windows frequently deletes dump files.
Also Ccleaner can delete dump files.
The settings will be checked with the posting of images.
After any BSOD immediately run V2 and save memory.dmp.

The Samsung Magician sw doesn't seem to support the 960 EVO drives I have installed...I even went to their dedicated page for that particular SSD and downloaded Magician and installed and ran it...

    Attachment 248803

Here are the screens from the HDS tests.
