Irregular BSODs after a fresh install

Hello there, after a fresh install on windows on my trusty rig (windows 10 would not update anymore and I got too frustrated looking for an answer) my PC crashes at irregular intervals. Sometimes twice a day, sometimes once a week. It usually happens during low intensity tasks (sometimes even while the system is idle and I'm out of the room).

sfc /scannow returned that there were no problems

I am not skilled enough to track down the culprit, so I hope I can find some help here. Many thanks in advance

Thank you, I will work through that list, though I am apprehensive about the GPU driver. I tried the 19.7.2 driver after the fresh install and my computer would not even boot into windows afterwards. I'll reserve that to the end if you don't mind

The latest version of the graphics card driver is 19.9.2. Maybe this driver will be better?

Aaand I'm stuck on step 1 already... The latest version wont download, the one before will download and extract, but the actual x64 update application won't execute. Not normal, not when run as admin. Any ideas?

Edit: Going through device manager and pointing it at the folder with the new drivers did it

Sorry for the double post, but I ran the windows built in memory diagnostic tool before and that returned 0 errors. Should I still run the HCI test? GPU update worked btw

Check in the Device Manager which version you have the graphics card driver

Device Manager says 26.20.13003.1007 (Date 10.09.2019); Radeon Software say 19.9.2

So you have the latest graphics driver installed. It remains for you to update the driver for the Wi-Fi card from the link above, as well as test the RAM and drivers as I wrote above

Sorry, I think you may have missed one post of mine. I also updated the Wifi Driver (albeit with the January driver since the most recent one would not download from the website). I had also asked whether or not the windows built in memory diagnostic tool would suffice as a ram check, since I recently ran that (Ram was one of my first ideas after the BSODs started) and it came back with no errors.

The SSD Firmware is still outstanding and then the driver verifier to top it all off, provided the ram test i did before qualifies

Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool is not very precise. It is normally recommended to use Memtest86, but it will not work for DDR4 because then the program will distort. HCI Memtest is the best for DDR4 even as it is under Windows
