BSOD's frequent even when system is idle

Hello!

This has been happening for quite some time and I've finally gotten tired of it. I'll get a really weird BSOD; CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION. Windbg gave it a bug check of 109, did a little Googling on it but it's a bit above my knowledge level. The BSOD occurs with no pattern, it can happen when the PC is under stress or it can happen just sitting idle.

I run Linux on this box as well, just on a separate HDD which I manipulate the drive connections. Linux will stay up for days, weeks and months. I've run memtest86 for almost a whole 24 hours, no reported errors. And the HDD is healthy as well.

Only thing is my rig is a little bit on the old side. 13 years old, but it still works fine as long as its not Windows!

I ran the log capturing utility and have attached the findings to this post. I hope there is something in there useful that is fixable! If not, I'm not going to worry to much.

BIOS dates from 2007. I'm seriously concerned that this system could be becoming incompatible w/Windows 10 and it may be time to purchase/build a newer, Windows 10 compatible system. Even if we fix these BSOD's, there's no telling when the next problem will popup - and the next one may not be fixable.

Please visit the A-Bit support site for your IP35 PRO(P35+ICH9R) motherboard and update it to the latest available BIOS version.

Only 4 gB of RAM installed. This will impact your system's performance and could even cause errors when running RAM intesive applications. While it's not a common problem, I have seen it occur on occasion.

From this post: Missing Device in x64 | Velocity Reviews it appears to be the GURU microprocessor on your ABit motherboard. Either install W10 compatible drivers (from the ABit support site for your motherboard) or disable the device in the BIOS (disabling in Device Manager still allows the drivers to load - and this may continue to try to load drivers (and cause problems)).

Please disconnect the Western Digital hard drive (both cables) and see if that helps things out.

Looking over the reports in the Error Report folder, it appears that there are a lot more BSOD's that you've had.
I suspect a hardware problem - so let's start with the hard drive tests I asked for above. Once you post back with the results we'll move on from there

Thanks for debugging that for me. I was under impression that age was some of the problem.

As for that driver, well, I have no idea where the install CD went. And I'm a good pack rack with CD's, still have a chess game from when windows 95 was a thing!

I have to make a decision whether I'm going to game again or just use my machine for my other hobby of php development, Along with running some virtual machines. What a dilemma!

Don't use the CD that came with the board - it's also very old and may even cause problems.

Please note that the drivers were only supported through Windows Vista - so run the installers in compatibility mode for Vista.

Finally, there may be generic drivers that are compatible with your motherboard and with Windows 10 at Windows Update. Try this: Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10
