So, has anyone still been experiencing this problem, particularly after upgrading to 1909? I was at 1903, longtime WSL user, and as I recall the BSODs started not longer after upgrading to 1903. It was always a particular program, PhpStorm, that triggered them (whenever I opened a file explorer dialog window). Then this week I started getting BSODs shortly after logging into Windows. I had to reinstall Windows, and the reinstaller from my manufacturer (Dell) downgraded me to 1809. Should I update to 1909?

    Hi willj,

Windows 1809 support ends May 2020:

Between now and then perform an in place upgrade:
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Please upgrade to Windows 1909 before May 2020.

The next version of Windows is an additional upgrade option before May 2020.
