    1) uninstall the Nvidia GPU driver using DDU (display driver uninstaller)

    2) re-install the Nvidia GPU driver from the Nvidia website

    3) make sure that you check the clean install box and if available install the physx driver.

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.0.8 (or newer version if available)

Goddamn lol. Nvlddmkm.sys... didn't expect that to pop again. Soooooooo I will do like you said, but last time the behavior got so wacky I ended up having to just RMA the card. I hope that's not the case here, but damn.... maybe the steam driver was a red herring?

I'll ddu and install the latest nvidia driver when I get home. It is hard to test for symptoms because it only seems to happen the first boot of the day. But I will let you know!

    Thanks again for your assistance!

    Okay, three questions:
DCH drivers or Standard? (I'm currently running DCH now)
Game ready drivers or Studio drivers? (Never had to make that choice before)
    Attachment 238012

and lastly, run verifier even though it didn't expose this issue previously? Wouldn't it be best to try to recreate the issue by loading as normal?

I do trust your advice, you've gotten me this far. And I'm no slump, either... my bro is good with graphics and multimedia, and I've got my degree in programming so there's a lot of computer experience and knowledge here.

But this thing is stumping me like you wouldn't believe! On paper isn't this a pretty decent rig? I just don't get why it's got this unreliable aspect to it. It's like a Ferrari you have in your garage but half the time you go to drive it, it doesn't start

Anyway thanks again, and I assume I'll post back when I have another crash dump or after XX hours of verifier has run with no issues?

The Nvidia GPU drivers were replaced earlier in this thread.
The same driver version was displayed for the latest BSOD.
Any driver can be installed and will then be stressed.
Steam is no longer in the testing environment.
If there are additional BSOD related to Nvidia drivers:
    a) Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers should be turned off
    b) A rolled back driver version should tested
    c) If there are BSOD then check to see if there are other ports to connect the GPU to the MB and if available try another port
    d) see if you can find a friend, neighbor, relative, or local computer store to swap the card. It can be Nvidia or AMD > if possible make two tests: test a new card in the problematic computer and test the card from the problematic computer in another computer.
    e) given that this is a notebook the hardware testing options may be limited

If you clean install and use physx if available then you can choose the remaining options.

Before I could restart into safe mode, another crash... logs and dump uploaded.

What are you talking about a notebook?

There are 4 different drivers I can choose for nvidia. You're telling me just choose at random then?

I will now boot into safe mode, ddu, install one of the nvidia drivers and run the stress tests that were mentioned earlier.

    Thanks!

    1) The Nvidia drivers were again the misbehaving drivers.

    2) Turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers:

Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10

    3) Find a Nvidia driver that is different from: 25.21.14.1972

    4) Uninstall the Nvidia GPU driver using DDU (display driver uninstaller)

    5) Re-install the Nvidia GPU driver from the Nvidia website

    6) Make sure that you check the clean install box and if available install the physx driver.

    8) In post #6 there were comments on the AMD swap. Is the GPU still available for swap testing?

1-6 done. 7 lol yeah that's why I was confused =) 8 yes I have an AMD card it's an r7 370 3 or 4 gb. I'm also thinking of switching to a different pci Express card slot on the motherboard, and/or using an alternate power supply.

    Will keep posted, thanks!

    An update.

Used DDU in safe mode to uninstall the Nvidia driver. Rebooted and installed the latest available DCH-GameReady drivers (430.86). These drivers are apparently written May 2019. I ran the stress test (verifier) with the appropriate settings for over 8 hours
    Attachment 238207

No BSODS no crashes no issues.

I started to use the computer as normal - i.e. waited a bit to cold boot it - so far there have been no crashes or bsods.
    Attachment 238209
I could not find any newer dumps. Here is the contents of the collector's logs.

And the new nvidia driver's about:

Sorry for not writing in... it's been busy working 10 hour days at work. I haven't had much time to test the PC.

I was going to say that I haven't had much crashing... but I did have one today. It had a weird behavior where everything on the screen stretched/repeated vertically, then just sort of faded to black. I have a video of it happening (not today, but a previous incident... I was able to jiggle the hdmi cable and it resolved) I'm going to post that and some collector logs when I have a chance. I haven't reinstalled steam and I've been using the same DCH drivers as before.

The last BSOD displayed in the logs was 6/21.

    For any BSOD:

    a) run the V2 log collector to collect new log files

    b) open file explorer> this PC > C: > in the right upper corner search for: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
    > if the file size is < 1.5 GB then zip > post a separate share link into the thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive
