@MrPepka,
I had this shortcut called Windows 10 Anniversary Update shortcut on my desktop. I'm trying with that first. If it doesn't work, I'll try the update with your method.
@zbook,
Once the system is updated, I'll check for a few days and then if things don't work out, I'll try the steps you've outlined.
@MrPepka, @zbook,
The system update was interrupted by the Dell guy who had visited me that day. He supposedly updated the drivers, which he was unable to prove to me. (Obviously! Since I had updated all of them, including the BIOS earlier..)
Although that was maddening and frustrating because I didn't expect Dell to resort to such underhanded tactics, but since that day, the system is stable and hasn't restarted even once.
So right now I'm in a state of dilemma... should I close this thread as solved or should I continue with the troubleshooting that we were doing.. Please suggest..
Post a updated BETA, now named V2 log collector.
As DELL have possibly made changes and it now appears to work correctly I would close the thread and start a new one if you need to. As zbook has suggested a final posting of the V2 log will record the current state of your system.So right now I'm in a state of dilemma... should I close this thread as solved or should I continue with the troubleshooting that we were doing.. Right!
The updated BETA is attached.
It looks as if your system is trying to update itself. I would start a new thread in the Windows Updates section of this forum and see if you can get some advice on updating to the latest version of W10.
The last BSOD in the event log was on 4/24 and was WHEA 0x124.
The last BSOD in Windows error reporting was on 5/2.
The event logs displayed two unexpected shutdowns/restarts on 4/26 and 4/29.
These entries can be seen with crashes or powering off for a hang or freeze.
What day and what troubleshooting steps/tests were performed by the Dell technician?
There was a missing file/folder within V2. Please post another V2 so that the file/folder can be viewed.
