    PC stuck on BSOD screen "critical process died"


    On an ASUS Windows tablet, I received a BSOD just minutes after I logged into Windows. All I got to do is open the Facebook Windows 10 app and add a friend and that very second, Windows crashed with a BSOD giving the error message "critical process died"

    It says that it is collecting additional information but it has been stuck at 100% for 20 minutes now. I cannot even download the log collectors and stuff required because the tablet will not restart! Holding the power button does nothing and I assume it is because it wants to wait until the data is sent but it apparently is NOT sending!

    Hi Ornithophilia,

    If nothing works, you can only wait for the battery to drain.

    How old is this tablet and is this the first time it happened?

    "critical process died" is often related to a failing hard drive.
