Is it not possible in MemTest to change the config and run the test with single / chosen core only?

Yes you are right, Am going to do the Memtest86 on the Ramstick that just failed but with the "Round Robin" mode and hopefully it might pick out the core which is "failing" if that is what is happening.

I then can maybe try running Windows (but changing the boot settings) on 1-3 cores leaving the core that is 'failing' off if I can and maybe then could see if it is stable in Windows, could even try the Prime95 test which gave errors before and see if it stops giving errors with that.

Could be going off on a tangent idk, if anyone has any advice please let me know!

I personally feel it's the right approach, especially in the context of the information you shared, and would try the same next.

For each RAM test the RAM module and the DIMM number are needed with an image and text report.

See what you can do to improve the test conditions.

Memtest86 used to be free for 8 passes and now is limited to 4 passes.

See if there is a friend, neighbor, relative, or local computer store that can swap the hardware.

Did one RAM module fail for two tests of 4 passes each in one DIMM and then pass for two tests of 4 passes each in the second DIMM.

Did the second RAM module fail for two tests of 4 passes each in one DIMM and then pass for one test and fail for the other? Please clean that up with a text report. Which RAM module and which DIMM.

The software Memtest86+ version 5.01 and Memtest 86 version 8.1 do not display all of the cores during testing.

There were many hardware parts that were replaced.
To perform proper testing tools are needed.

The swaps are for free or nominal cost wheres replacing parts with inadequate testing can be costly.

Again see if you can find a local computer store to swap a tested RAM module, CPU, or motherboard.

Little thing I'm trying now is I ran the CPU on 3 cores (6 threads) and it gave Prime95 errors super fast like before, running CPU on 2 cores (4 threads) and been running prime95 for 10 mins so far and no errors so far. Potentially I could test for stability without adding anything else and then maybe adding in the other RAM back to the slot, then adding other components and if it is stable on 2 cores I can assume it's the CPU being dodgy?

    Let me know anyones thoughts.

It's preferred to used standard testing conditions:

    1) To ensure that there are no improper bios settings please reset the bios.

    2) See if you can find a friend, neighbor, relative or local computer store to swap any of the hardware components:
    RAM, motherboard, CPU, etc.

    3) The testing conditions are important.

    All tests have:
False positives:.....................normal hardware with abnormal test result
False negatives................... malfunctioning hardware with normal test result
True positives..................... malfunctioning hardware with abnormal test result
True negatives.....................normal hardware with normal test result
    Accuracy...............................mathematical result of the above

A test with low accuracy could be a misleading test.

Again the testing tools and methods are critical in obtaining a useful result.

It seems quite conclusive to me that the CPU is the problem.

I've just had a reply from Intel and they said "after discussing the matter with a higher level of support it seems that your processor is defective". So am waiting to hear back to see what my options are.
