    Boot loop and BSOD.

Hi, new to the forum, I'm pretty desperate for help with some issues with W10 Pro, apologies if I fail some etiquette.

Recently I had a BSOD with an error about the ntfs.sys having an issue.

After rebooting windows goes into a boot loop and automatic repair failure.

I've tried everything I can think of, but from what I can see my files are still there, problem is my 1TB drive is showing the 931GB partition as E instead of C.

I've tried repairing the MBR, booting into safe mode, etc, nothing works.

I'm going to try getting a W10 USB to see if it can fix it, but first I wanted some opinions.

The drive letter may be different for the same partition when viewing drive letters with Windows versus Windows RE.

Do not make any steps to change drive letters.

Find two flash drives that you can format ( > or = 8 GB)

    On a working computer:
    a) create a bootable Windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10
Download Windows 10 ISO File | Tutorials

    b) create a Kyhi boot rescue flash drive:
Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk - Windows 10 Forums

The Kyhi boot rescue flash drive has a Windows XP format.
It should open to the desktop to allow you to backup files (copy and paste and backup image)
And it should allow you to test the hardware with HD Tune or HD Sentinel and Sea Tools for Windows
    https://www.hdtune.com/ (free or trial version)
Post images of the results on these tabs:
    a) Health (SMART)
    b) Benchmark
    c) Full error scan

Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring (free or trial version)
Post images of the results on these tabs:
    a) Overview
    b) Temperature
    c) SMART

    Sea Tools for Windows
    http://www.seagate.com/support/downl...ls-win-master/
How to use SeaTools for Windows | Seagate Support
Post images of the results for the long generic scan

The bootable Windows 10 iso can often be used to interrupt any automatic repair loop.
It can also be used for:
    system restore
    command prompt commands
    reset save files equivalent
    clean install
    etc.

Update the specs in the "My Computer" section:

In the left corner below in your post you find 'My System Specs'.
After clicking it you can find a link a little below that says 'Update your System Spec', click on this link to get to the page where you can fill in your system specs.

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, USB wireless network card, etc.)

Sorry for the late message, I'm working on it, I'm sure the disk is fine chkdsk found no issues.

I've gotten ahold of a W10 boot USB.

Getting a different error now though

The operating system couldn't be loaded because the system registry file is missing or contains errors.

    Code 0xc0000225

Going to try the rescue disk now and get back to you, thanks.

Oh, and the file is \WINDOWS\system32\config\system

EDIT Good news and bad news, I was able to get into Windows PE and verify that my hard drive is is good condition.

Bad news is I couldn't fix the bootloader/registry issue with the W10 boot USB, I'm going to try the image_health program.

Are there any logs I can show since I've got PE working?

Forgive me for double posting, but I can't edit my post.

Like I've said before I am in the PE recovery environment, I'm going to wait to do anything though, I don't want to damage my data.

At this point I will likely reinstall windows, I just need to get my bookmarks from mozills, and make a backup of all my files.

Using Kyhi boot rescue you should be able to backup important files.
This can be done by copy and paste.
Another option is to create a backup image.

Using Kyhi boot rescue you can use browsers and run hardware tests.
If the drive passes the testing then it can be used for a clean install once all important files are backed up.

Troubleshooting steps will take longer than a clean install.

You can run the log collectors (DM and BETA) and post zips into this thread.
Information about the problems should be within the logs.

Alright, I'll post some info in a bit the error scan is almost done.

Unfortunately I lack ethernet, so I can't post logs, I'll take pictures of everything I can.

I don't mind a clean install as long as I can save my firefox profile, my bookmarks and addons are very important.

See if you can use a flash drive to move files from the problematic computer to a working computer.
Then upload files into the thread.
If you don't have access now you will have saved the files to the flash drive to upload later.
