The drivers from the MS site didn't work and I think the mobo might be under warranty. If it is, Ill have to think of a work out a way to send it in as it's my work pc as well. Ill need to find a replacement in the meantime.

Ill also open a driver thread to see if there are other options but it's sounding like it's a hardware issue that needs dealing with.

    Thanks

Usually an RMA will send you a new board and a return shipping label and give you 10 days or so to return the old board so you should be able to install the new board then return the old one with minimal down time.

    1) What happened with the motherboard/Asus?

    2) What happened with the Asmedia forum for the device manager unknown device?

    3) How come the startup and recovery system failure settings were changed from automatic memory dump in post #6 to small memory dump?

    4) If possible please change to automatic memory dump during the troubleshooting process.
Reboot after the change to maintain the setting.

    5) Temporarily turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers:
Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10 | Tutorials

    6) uninstall the Nvidia GPU driver using DDU (display driver uninstaller)

    7) re-install the Nvidia GPU driver from the Nvidia website

(Make sure that the new driver is different from: 25.21.14.1771)

    8) make sure that you check the clean install box and if available install the physx driver.

I reached out to Asus, I was expecting an email back this week about if they will honor a RMA. Im hoping I will hear back next week or I will reach back out to them again.

I haven't made the post yet, I will later today on the Asmedia forum. I was hoping Asus would just let me RMA and let them handle it.

Im not sure why it was changed to small mem dump but I changed it back to automatic.

Also turned off win updates for non-ms drivers and redid nvidia drivers though the driver is still showing up as 25.21.14.1771 and I dont see any newer drivers

I have a friend who has an extra new 1070 he's going to lend me Sunday to try out to make sure it's not the video card.

When testing video cards it is best to perform two tests.
    a) Test a new card in the problematic computer
    b) Test the card from the problematic computer in another computer

When replacing drivers a rolled back driver can be used to test for a stable /unstable computer environment.

Well after a week I finally got another BSOD. I still have the new video card in and tried the old card on another pc with no issues.

Here is the latest dump file

    DESKTOP-3NVFENO-(2019-02-05_05-18-30).zip - Google Drive

I really hope there is some useful info in this. Asus wont take back the mobo, so if it's a mobo issue it looks like Ill be replacing it.

The mini dump bugcheck was 192.

The stack text displayed the misbehaving driver: Nvidia GPU driver nvlddmkm.sys

One more test can be performed:

The same driver was used with the new Nvidia GPU card.

Temporarily turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers:

Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10 | Tutorials
Make sure the new driver is not: 25.21.14.1771

The Nvidia GPU card from the problematic computer did not BSOD in another computer.
The new Nvidia GPU card just had BSOD in the problematic computer but with the same driver.

If there is a BSOD with a new driver with the replaced card then you can conclude that the motherboard is faulty.

Looks like there are new drivers out as of yesterday #25.21.14.1881. Im going to update and go from there. At least now you seemed to have narrowed down the issue. If i get another crash I post the dump file but in the mean time Ill be looking out for a new mobo, though it seems this chipset is no longer for sale so Ill have to track down another mobo to fit the cpu. Thanks for your help.
